Activists Turn Buckingham Palace Gardens Into Virginia Giuffre Memorial: 'May She Be Remembered'

Campaigners installed tribute signs outside the palace honouring the late Epstein accuser, reigniting scrutiny of the duke’s past links to Jeffrey Epstein.

Public anger surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has shown little sign of fading, and the disgraced royal has once again found himself at the center of a provocative public protest. This time, activists chose one of the most symbolic backdrops possible—staging a demonstration just outside Buckingham Palace and effectively turning the surrounding gardens into an impromptu tribute to the late Virginia Giuffre.

The move was orchestrated by campaigners from the political group Everyone Hates Elon, who installed memorial-style signage outside the grounds of Buckingham Palace honoring Virginia Giuffre. The display effectively reimagined the surrounding gardens as a tribute to her legacy, drawing attention to the years she spent challenging powerful figures linked to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The group said the gesture was intended to recognize Giuffre’s persistence in speaking out and pursuing legal action over the abuse she alleged she endured. Over the years, she became one of the most prominent voices calling for accountability in the Epstein scandal, publicly recounting her experiences and filing lawsuits that helped bring greater scrutiny to the network surrounding him. In doing so, she relinquished her anonymity and became one of the most notable personalities calling for accountability in the sprawling scandal surrounding the disgraced financier.

The signs placed outside the palace carried a message honoring her efforts. One read, “In honour of Virginia Giuffre, whose decades of campaigning exposed sexual abuse by powerful men like Jeffrey Epstein and former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Her bravery and determination brought the truth to light. May she be remembered long after her abusers are forgotten.” Explaining the demonstration, a spokesperson for Everyone Hates Elon framed the protest as a challenge to elite power, My London reported. “Billionaires and their mates think they can get away with anything.”

The spokesperson added, “They think ordinary people will never fight back—let alone win. Yet Virginia Giuffre never stopped standing up to Epstein and Andrew. It's thanks to her and survivors like her that they are being made to pay for their crimes, even if only a little. Andrew hoped no one would ever know Virginia's name. He even paid people to investigate and smear her. Instead, this memorial should stand as a permanent reminder so the world never forgets.”

For the unversed, the palace garden protest is only the latest in a string of stunts targeting the former duke. In previous protests, the same group displayed a large photograph of Andrew at the Louvre Museum following his arrest on February 19. Similarly, in the Scottish city of Inverness, a plaque commemorating Andrew’s 2018 visit to the city’s Town House was quietly removed earlier this week. The plaque marked his trip to celebrate the completion of renovations to the city center's civic building.

The same activists also had erected signs around the Sandringham Estate warning that a “sweaty n*nce” was in the area. Activists also unveiled what they described as the “world’s largest photo," showing Mountbatten-Windsor alongside Epstein outside Windsor Castle.
