Has Princess Beatrice's Marriage Hit a Rough Patch? Insider Addresses Rumors of Strain
The rumors began largely because Mozzi had been traveling a lot for work, including trips to Palm Beach.
After reports emerged this week that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's marriage is strained amid the ongoing Andrew saga, a source close to the couple has come forward to dismiss the rumors. The story picked up when The Mail on Sunday claimed the couple had been a bit distant lately. It was largely because Mozzi had been traveling a lot for work, including trips to Palm Beach. The report hinted that the ongoing issues surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson had Beatrice focused on supporting her parents, while Mozzie had been busy juggling his work commitments.
But the Princess's inner circle says there is no drama here and that the gossip is 'complete nonsense,' PEOPLE reported.
A source had told Daily Mail, “Things haven’t been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through.” They added that Beatrice is quite different from her sister, Princess Eugenie — she tends to see the good in people, even when it means overlooking uncomfortable truths, “that is why she was blind to her father’s behavior, and the same is true of her belief in Edo.”
But according to their friends, there is no trouble in the marriage at all, with one telling HELLO!, “The only thing Bea and Edo are navigating is their busy jobs and looking after their children. They’ve both had recent stints working abroad and, like so many working parents, have [been] balancing work with looking after the kids.” The insider continued, “Recent reports that things aren’t good between them are not true at all.”
Amid the speculation, Beatrice and Mozzi were seen out in Notting Hill for a date at Eeel Sushi Bar, putting on a united front. They reportedly spent two hours inside before being picked up in a Porsche.
After their father’s arrest on February 19, Beatrice and her sister Eugenie have mostly stayed out of the spotlight. As for their mom, Ferguson, no one really knows where she is right now. Nevertheless, reports say she has been traveling to places like the UAE, the French Alps, Switzerland, and Ireland since leaving Royal Lodge last month.
Meanwhile, a source told PEOPLE that Beatrice and Eugenie have just been focusing on family life lately. They both have young kids to look after, and in Beatrice’s case, that includes her two daughters, Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1, as well as Mozzi’s son, 'Wolfie,' 9. Friends say they have mostly been staying out of the spotlight. “They’re like a locked ship right now.” Royal author Ingrid Seward added, “They are tarnished by this. It has affected their lives a great deal.”
