Buckingham Palace recently announced that Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, will embark on an international royal tour next month, with scheduled stops in South Korea and Thailand. The exciting news comes just days after the Princess Royal hosted close friends and family at her Gloucestershire estate for the wedding of her son, Peter Phillips. Proving once again why she has earned a steadfast reputation as one of the monarchy's most dedicated, hardest-working senior figures, Anne is wasting no time pivoting from family celebrations back to full-throttle royal duties.

The announcement has only made one thing from Anne’s decades-long royal career apparent. It’s that family milestones may come and go, but duty remains a constant. As per the details released by the Palace, the Princess Royal will travel to the Republic of Korea from July 13 to July 15. Then, she will be heading to Thailand from July 16 to July 17. During her visit to the former country, Anne will attend engagements with the aim to “reflect and honor the breadth and strength of the UK–Republic of Korea relationship.” A major part of the visit will also consist of commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin River. She will also honor the sacrifice of British soldiers who fought during the Korean War.

Apart from historical remembrance, Anne’s itinerary also concentrates on the modern relationship between the two nations. Palace officials revealed that her itinerary highlights bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including industry, innovation, maritime manufacturing, advanced technologies, and education. The visit also carries a lot of significance as the diplomatic ties between the countries continue to grow in today’s time. Back in 2023, King Charles hosted a State Visit for the President of the Republic of Korea, following previous presidential visits in 2004 and 2013. Having previously traveled to South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympics, the Princess Royal is well-positioned to continue the British monarchy's deep-rooted connection to the country.

Once in Thailand, her schedule will continue to be tedious. The Princess Royal is to visit a local school in Bangkok supported by Save the Children Thailand. She will also meet Thai female scientists, attend a regional health security showcase, and participate in a UK-Thailand cultural collaboration. While in Thailand, Princess Anne is scheduled to hold audiences with the Thai Prime Minister as well as Their Majesties the King and Queen. This upcoming trip will mark her fourth official visit to the country. Her history with the nation spans decades; she first traveled there in 1972 alongside her parents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, before returning for subsequent official tours in 1979 and 1987.

Amid all this, questions about Anne's workload have continued to follow the Princess Royal since her horse-related accident in 2024. Earlier this year, Woman's Day reported that daughter Zara Tindall had urged her mother to slow down and take more time to rest. However, with yet another overseas trip on the horizon, Anne seems to be proving that easing off the gas isn't part of her plans anytime soon.

The overseas tour is making headlines after a memorable family occasion. Last weekend, Peter Phillips married NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in an intimate ceremony at All Saints Church in Kemble. Many senior royals, like King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, were in attendance. Later, the guests gathered at Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate for the reception. But the swift return to international engagements has showcased a pattern that has defined Anne’s public life. In 2025 alone, she completed as many as ten overseas trips spanning South Africa, France, Greece, Türkiye, Barbados, Belgium, Ireland, Ukraine, Australia, and Singapore. Now, with another demanding tour coming close, the Princess Royal appears as committed as ever to the role that has made her one of the most respected working royals.
