With every monarch, the British throne has witnessed massive changes in its age-old traditions, and the same is expected to happen in Prince William’s reign. Ought to be the most modern heir to the throne, William is expected to bring some revolutionary changes when he is crowned as the monarch. An insider has revealed the heir's supposed plans for restructuring the family’s operations and 'overhauling' his father, King Charles’s, ways of running the monarchy.

The operations of Buckingham Palace have largely remained the same since Victorian times, but William’s ascension to the throne may bring a massive change in its functioning. According to GB News, a friend of William’s told The Times, “When the moment comes, he'll want to do it his way: genuinely, not just following a script.” The source claimed that the Prince of Wales, upon becoming the King, will ensure the institution is fit for serving a purpose in the modern era while staying impactful and relevant. He would ‘take every stone and look underneath it’ while examining its structure. The insider added, “He's not afraid to dig into the details, ask the tough questions, and figure out what actually works today.” William is also believed to be “mindful of how much the monarchy costs," considering the sovereign grant of approximately $115 million accommodates the expenses of the royal household.

The insider claims that the future king’s priority would be to analyse whether the institution to which he belongs is still impactful. Unlike his predecessors, he would take the functioning into his hands and not delegate the management to courtiers for better organization. The confidant suggests that William will not play a passive role as the head of state, and rather focus on a more ‘private, robust, challenging’ approach to advice in matters. He added, “There is no way he (William) will go down that route or anything like it.” The insider continued, “He is mindful of the fact that, whenever his time comes, how can the coronation be modern but also unifying to the nation and the Commonwealth?”

Despite William's modern approach, King Charles wants his son not to follow in his footsteps. Charles has instead advised William to https://www.theroyalobserver.com/p/prince-williams-friend-reveals-his-plan-for-archie-and-lilibet-when-hes-king-the-idea-that over his duties and not repeat the same mistake as him. According to Marca, royal expert Ingrid Seward revealed, “Charles said to William, 'Please don't make the mistake that I made' and 'I want you to enjoy your family life.’” She further claimed that the king was insistent about his son prioritizing his loved ones. “I was so dedicated to duty, I couldn't make way for family life in the way that I should've done.” Meanwhile, William appeared obedient to his father’s advice as he put his family first amid Kate Middleton’s health scare. Despite stepping back from his royal duties, William struck a fine balance between his professional and personal life during the toughest time of his life.
