Prince William Lets His Silly Side Shine as He Plays Ball With Children During School Visit — Watch
During the visit, Prince William showed off his fun-loving side at the London Welsh School in west London.
Prince William has always been one of the most fun-loving royals, never letting outside noise affect his conduct. With Prince Harry in town, one would expect him to be stoic, but on the contrary, the Prince was spotted in a jovial mood as he visited a school in London. During the visit, the Prince showed off his fun-loving side at the London Welsh School in west London, where he happily joined children for a game of catch and bowls, leaving pupils smiling throughout the day.
The Prince of Wales visited the school on Tuesday to celebrate Team Wales athletes ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. But it wasn't just the official duties that caught attention; it was William's playful interactions with the children that stole the show. As he stepped into the classroom, the surprised little ones greeted him with loud applause. William quickly put everyone at ease, chatting with the children before he picked up a ball and joined in the fun. Watch the video here!
During an interactive session, William embraced his playful side by playing catch with the kids. William was also seen playing a game of bowls with the kids in the garden area. The royal laughed and played alongside the youngsters, proving he is just as happy kicking back with children as he is carrying out formal engagements. During a friendly game of bowls, he even cheered on one young pupil after a successful throw, joking, "Well done, straight to the Commonwealth Games."
Later during the visit, he also met Finnie, the official Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games mascot. William also met five Team Wales athletes preparing for the Games, including lawn bowler Ross Owen, blind para bowler Julie Thomas and her guide John Wilson, as well as weightlifters Madaline Connelly and Catrin Haf Jones. Finding a shady spot in the school garden, William greeted the athletes with a smile, saying, "You've found a bit of shade here, guys, well done."
The Prince was shown the newly unveiled Glasgow 2026 medals, which feature Braille descriptions for the first time, and he spoke with the athletes about their preparations for the competition. While discussing lawn bowls with Thomas and her guide, William admitted he might need a few lessons himself. "My bowls are very erratic," he joked after learning how Wilson guides Thomas during competition. Thomas later praised the future king for his warm personality, saying he seemed "genuinely interested" in every athlete and was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
