Prince William Could Rely on Two Unexpected Royals When He Becomes King

Despite the shifting dynamics within the Royal Family, the York sisters have retained their titles.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are currently navigating an extremely tough period in their lives, resulting from the intense criticism surrounding their parents, former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. In light of the deteriorating situation, the sisters have voluntarily stepped back from several key royal events, including the recent Easter celebrations. However, despite a lot of uncertainty, a royal expert has now suggested that, in the future, Prince William could increasingly rely on Beatrice and Eugenie when he eventually ascends the throne.

Right now, this seems very hard to imagine as the sisters have never been working royals, but royal editor Emily Andrews suggested that they might help the future king with pomp and ceremonies. In her most recent Royal Insider column, Emily wrote, "Personally, I think Prince William will need both girls, whom I’ve met and think are decent sorts, when he becomes monarch. Not as working royals but to help out with the pageantry." Even in the past years, both Beatrice and Eugenie have always helped during various occasions like royal garden parties and other engagements, offering support to their uncle, King Charles, as reported by Woman & Home.

Therefore, with years of hands-on experience in managing public duties, they might surely be valuable allies in the future. This is even more likely to happen because William often supports the idea of having a more streamlined monarchy, potentially relying on a smaller circle of trusted family members. Talking about his way of leading the monarchy, William previously said, "I think it's safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good, and I embrace that, and I enjoy that change. I don't fear it, that's the bit that excites me - the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think need to happen," as reported by Sky News.

However, not everyone within the royal family supports the idea of having a streamlined monarchy. For instance, a few years ago, Princess Anne stated, "Well, I think the 'slimmed down' was said in a day when there were a few more people around. It doesn't sound like a good idea from where I'm standing, I would say. I'm not quite sure what else we can do." So, if William decides to follow that ideology, he will have the pressure of loading a lot of duties on just a handful of shoulders.

Meanwhile, despite the shifting dynamics within the royal family, the York sisters have held on to their Princess titles, with Charles continuously supporting them behind the scenes. As reported by InStyle, a source said last year, “The monarch is fond of his nieces and doesn’t want them to suffer because of their father’s downfall." They added, “There was no deal struck about the future for Beatrice and Eugenie; they are private individuals in that respect, but there have been talks for some time about using them when and if there is a need."
