King Charles and Queen Camilla Lead Royals at Easter Service: All The Key Details
Charles and Camilla were joined by several other royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The Royal Family has long upheld Easter Day as a key moment in its official calendar. Most senior royals come together on this day every year for a special church service led by the monarch. They then sit together for a private family lunch, putting forth a united front. Despite occasional absences in some years, the event is usually attended by almost all the members. This year, on April 5, 2026, King Charles III and Queen Camilla marked Easter Sunday with a special visit to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, continuing a long-standing royal custom.
They were joined there by several other royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, who were probably the first ones to arrive at the venue. They led the way ahead of the rest of the royals, with Princess Charlotte greeting the gathered crowd and members of the press with a wave, as reported by the Town and Country Magazine. It is also worth noting that while the wider royal family arrived at the church on foot, Charles and Camilla arrived separately by car. After stepping out, the monarch was seen greeting the crowd warmly with a wave and sharing a sweet moment with his grandchildren.
While Charles opted for a classic blue suit, Camilla turned heads in a beautiful red wool crepe dress designed by Fiona Clare, paired with an elegant hat by Philip Treacy, as reported by HELLO! Magazine. She also sported a brooch that once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II. While heading back, the Queen was handed a bouquet by a little boy just outside the Chapel. Meanwhile, Kate re-wore a boucle and chiffon midi dress for the occasion, pairing it with a wide-brim saucer hat by Sean Barrett.
Prince Edward was also spotted at the church along with his son, James, Earl of Wessex. However, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and their daughter were notably absent from the gathering. Additionally, Peter Phillips was seen attending the church service along with his future stepdaughter, Georgina, and bride-to-be Harriet Sperling. Several other Royal family members were also in attendance. As per the official details, the occasion will move ahead with a time-honored feast featuring a multi-course roast meal, along with indulgent chocolate eggs enjoyed by the entire family.
Just a few days ago, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles will skip delivering an official Easter message this year, marking a major difference from last year when he addressed the public on Maundy Thursday. However, as reported by Geo TV, the Prime Minister of the UK, Sir Keir Starmer, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share his seasonal greetings, and wrote, “As Lent comes to an end and we approach the Easter weekend, I want to send my warmest wishes to the UK and around the world.”
