Prince Harry Could Return to the UK Within Weeks—And He May Not Be Traveling Alone
The Sussexes have rarely traveled to the UK since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Over the last few months, there has been widespread speculation surrounding Prince Harry’s potential return to the UK this summer. Media reports have focused on everything from his security concerns and hopes of bringing his family to Britain to the possibility of a reconciliation with King Charles and other members of the royal family. While nothing has officially been confirmed, a latest report is now suggesting that the Sussex family could arrive in Britain within weeks. This is something to watch out for because Harry and Meghan Markle, and especially their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have rarely traveled to the country since the couple decided to step back from royal duties in 2020.
As reported by News.com.au, this trip is being planned in connection with Harry’s ‘One Year To Go’ Invictus Games event, which is taking place in Birmingham, and is scheduled for mid-July. A source close to Harry recently said, “It’s been a real point of great sadness – for Harry especially – that he’s been unable to bring his wife and kids back to the UK safely to reconnect with friends and family, but anyone would understand his desire to put their safety first.”
The person added, “He would love to introduce the children to his wider family, to show them the UK, where he grew up – his homeland. That would be a natural thing for any parent.” Recent reports have also suggested that the Duke is eager to strengthen his relationship with his dad, who is continuing his treatment following his cancer diagnosis. When looking back, Markle and the kids have not returned to the UK in nearly four years. In fact, Archie and Lilibet went there only once during the celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Furthermore, highlighting Markle's resilience in the last few years, the source said, “Meghan’s strong and much more resilient than people give her credit for – she’s had to grow the thickest of skin to deal with the daily barrage of unnecessary and frankly, dangerous, hate that is spread about her.” They also revealed, “But Meghan loves the UK and knows that the vast, vast majority of people are reasonable, rational and good.” Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that security concerns have been one of the biggest obstacles, with Harry even losing a legal battle in May 2025, seeking to restore the publicly funded security arrangements he previously received as a working royal.
Speaking of this, the source said, “There are individuals and groups that wish to do him and his family harm. Whether you like them or not, no sane person would want anything to happen to him, his wife, or their kids.” The person continued, “You can be assured that if they are coming [to Britain], then he’s satisfied that the conditions have been met to keep them all as safe as possible.” Therefore, the planned trip either suggests that their security situation has improved or maybe they have received a royal invitation.
