Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are closing out 2025 with a holiday message that presents a carefully framed look at who they are now. On December 19, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their Christmas card along with a huge Archewell update. The card features the couple smiling as they walk through the snow during the first-ever Winter Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler earlier this year. Dusted with white snowflake specks, it carried a simple seasonal greeting: “We wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and a Joyful New Year.” Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, do not appear on the card itself, keeping the focus solely on Harry and Meghan as a couple.

The choice of setting drawn from Invictus reinforces how closely the Sussexes now align their public identity with their philanthropic work and advocacy. Along with their Christmas card, Harry and Markle also shared a video chronicling moments from 2025 and earlier years through their newly renamed Archewell Philanthropies, formerly known as the Archewell Foundation. A statement on the organization’s website explained the transition: “After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies,” it reads. “This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavors as a family,” signaling a wider and more collective approach to their charitable efforts.

The video opens with rare glimpses of the couple’s family life. Harry and Markle are seen with Archie and Lilibet while preparing meals with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles ahead of Thanksgiving. It then shifts to a wider timeline of public appearances and multiple community-focused engagements. The montage closes with a formal seasonal note stating, “On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.” Interestingly, the Duchess later also shared a separate, never-before-seen family photograph on her Instagram.

The photograph offered a more intimate counterpoint to the official card. “Happy Holidays! From our family to yours,” Markle wrote. In the image, Archie is seen hugging his father while Lilibet gently touches her forehead with Mom, Meghan, as the family stands on a small bridge above a pond in a forest setting. The moment recalls earlier Sussex holiday cards that used to heavily center on private family milestones. For instance, early greetings highlighted newborn Archie, introduced Lilibet to the world, and reflected their move to California. More recent cards, such as 2023 and 2024, have paid more emphasis to their charitable work, awards, and overseas visits. Their 2025 release continues that pattern and features a setting very close to the heart of the Duke.

The card immediately after their marriage was the most personal of all. Their 2018 greeting featured a photo from their wedding celebrations and captured the couple from behind as they watched fireworks together. Taken together, the evolution of these cards, as well as their narratives, reveals just how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have steadily taken control of how their story is told.
