Prince Harry And Meghan Drop A Major Update — And It Might Have Left Prince William Fuming
It is believed that Prince Harry intends to take his children to see Princess Diana's grave at Althorp House for the first time.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confirmed that they will travel to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Prince Lilibet, next month. It was reported that King Charles had invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to stay at a royal residence, signaling a thaw in tensions within the Royal Family. And it has been reported that they have also given their nod to staying at the royal residence. This gesture followed a period of distance and the couple's loss of Frogmore Cottage. It has now been confirmed that the ex-royals have given their consent to make amends with the monarchy. However, their nod may sound alarm bells for Prince William, who is not in favor of the emotional homecoming.
According to the Independent, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will stay at a royal residence during their five-day trip, accompanied by their children. This is their first journey back to the UK since the 2022 Platinum Jubilee, and it will be Harry's first encounter with his father, Charles, in nine months. The specific residence remains unknown, though Buckingham Palace has been mentioned as a possibility. It has also been speculated that Harry intends to take his children to see Princess Diana's grave at Althorp House for the first time.
The family will participate in the festivities leading up to Harry's Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham in July of next year, as part of the one-year countdown. Since leaving their royal duties in 2020, the Sussexes have been in a court battle with the Home Office over personal security measures, which is the main reason they have avoided coming down to the United Kingdom. Moreover, the ex-royals were asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage, which was a wedding gift from the late Queen after Harry released his controversial memoir Spare in 2023.
However, this might ring alarm bells for Prince of Wales, Prince William, since he has already bolted the door shut towards any type of reconciliation with his younger brother. According to Express UK, William is finding it hard to believe that his father has taken a U-turn and supported Harry. Charles's decision regarding the Sussexes' return to the UK has reportedly left him "deeply irritated," and he is not responding to Harry's calls. Vanity Fair reported that the future king is in no mood to meet his brother. "William won’t be seeing his brother. I suspect he will make sure he’s miles away when Harry visits to avoid any awkward encounters. Harry has tried to make contact repeatedly, but William won’t take his calls," a source told the publication.
It is believed that the Prince of Wales is still holding on to the past mistakes his younger brother committed. William feels that Harry crossed a line with allegations made during the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview and in his memoir, Spare, regarding his experiences within the monarchy. Sources indicate that William believes King Charles is making a 'mistake' in his approach to the estranged Duke. While Charles seeks peace and advocates for forgiveness, William is known for holding grudges and is unlikely to forgive Harry soon, if ever.
