Prince Andrew Confirms He Will Give Up His Royal Titles After 'Discussing With King Charles'

After Prince Andrew’s association with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was exposed, the Firm has largely distanced itself from him. But now, there is an official update that most royal fans have expected for a long time.
Andrew has officially given up his royal titles, including the Duke of York, three years after he was ousted as a senior royal by the Palace.

Although Andrew continues to deny he has anything to do with the disgraced sex offender, he believes all the controversy surrounding him has been a major distraction for the royal family.
In a statement shared by Buckingham Palace, Andrew confirmed: "In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life."

He added, "With King Charles' agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me."
The news comes just days after excerpts were published from Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir, where she alleged she was trafficked by Epstein and that Andrew sexually abused her when she was 17.
