Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling to Have a Royal Cotswolds Wedding — Here’s What We Know So Far
Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling are said to be inviting only close friends and family to the All Saints Church in Kemble.
Peter Philips and Harriet Sperling announced their engagement in August last year before confirming plans to marry on June 6, 2026, in a private ceremony at All Saints Church in Kemble. The upcoming nuptials have already generated significant buzz because of the royal family’s continually shifting internal dynamics. With the couple prioritizing only close friends and family, royal watchers can expect a strong turnout of senior royals, alongside a few highly notable absences.
Philips and Sperling are reportedly planning an intimate countryside celebration in the Cotswolds, closely aligned with their approach to public life. In contrast to other major royal weddings, the couple will forgo traditional elements like a carriage procession. Several senior royals, like King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate, are expected to attend. Philip's mother, Princess Anne, stepfather Sir Timothy Laurence, and his father, Captain Mark Phillips, will likely take on key roles throughout the day. Of course, Zara and Mike Tindall will also be there alongside their children. Surprisingly, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie may also join the celebrations for a quiet and low-key appearance.
Unsurprisingly, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and Sarah Ferguson are not expected to attend. Ahead of their big day, a friend of Philips told the Daily Mail, "Peter and Harry haven't spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn't been invited. Peter and Harriet's wedding is an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It's an area where they grew up and is very special to them both." Marking the second marriage for both, the union will bring together their respective families; Phillips shares two daughters with his ex-wife, Autumn Kelly, while Sperling has a daughter from her previous marriage.
While Philip and Sperling's ceremony is private, that doesn't mean royal fans won't get to see a few traditions that day. Royal brides have historically carried myrtle bouquets since Queen Victoria's era, something that Sperling may do, and Welsh gold wedding bands remain a long-standing custom. Formal dress codes will be in place, with male guests arriving in morning suits and women opting for modest outfits paired with hats or fascinators. If the couple chose to follow wider traditions, they may partake in two receptions, a formal daytime reception and a private evening party for close friends and family.
