Fresh concerns are mounting inside the Palace as Sarah Ferguson considers whether to sit down for a televised tell-all. If she does, royal aides fear she may go ‘rogue’ and lay everything on the table, from her past ties to Jeffrey Epstein to her long, tangled history with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. According to several reports, major American broadcasters have already put forward offers, reportedly worth ‘significant six-figure sums,’ hoping to secure an interview that could lift the lid on one of the most fraught chapters in recent royal memory.

The former Duchess has kept her head down ever since she and Mountbatten-Windsor lost their remaining titles and honors last month. Insiders say this sudden shift has left her feeling as though she is on her own. "There’s a danger of her going rogue and saying things that could cause embarrassment for King Charles and Queen Camilla, or other members of the family," a source told The Sun. American producers also appear eager to strike while the iron is hot. Oprah Winfrey, who interviewed Ferguson several years ago, is also said to be among those who are interested. A conversation now, however, would unfold under far darker circumstances.

Ferguson’s past ties with Epstein have followed her like a shadow, and she allegedly knows staying silent forever may no longer be an option. Even so, she is not rushing. Those close to her state that she is "thinking things over very carefully" so she can avoid a "Maitlis scenario” that wrecked her former husband's royal standing. In 2019, the 65-year-old agreed to appear on the infamous Newsnight interview, believing it would finally clear the air about his ties to Epstein. While his advisors believed it would help him regain public trust. Instead, it had the opposite effect and quickly became one of the most damaging moments of his life.

Despite the precedent, even Ferguson’s advisors believe an interview could help steady the ship. “She and her team know a televised interview would be make or break for her in terms of salvaging her reputation. It would also give her the chance to spell out the fact she knew nothing about what Epstein and his associates were doing,” the source told The Sun, also adding, “Andrew has had his chances to tell his story. Now it’s Fergie’s time.”

While there’s still no confirmation on what she plans to do, if she does decide to sit for an interview or write a tell-all memoir, for that matter, it could hit the royal family like a bolt from the blue. The situation already echoes the upheaval caused by Prince Harry’s Spare in 2023, as well as his and Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview, where they lifted the curtain on several shocking claims.

On top of these reports, pressure on Ferguson is already rising high after her latest children’s book was unexpectedly scrapped. The cancellation has been a heavy blow for the former Duchess of York, who’s now weighing her next steps with care. If she does choose to speak, the Palace knows it may open a can of worms that will be hard to close again.
