New US Poll Suggests Harry's Personal Brand Is in Trouble — While Meghan’s on the Rise

New YouGov data shows the Duke of Sussex losing ground with US audiences, even as Meghan’s ratings begin to recover.

Prince Harry’s popularity in the US has taken yet another dip, and it’s a steep slide this time as per YouGov Ratings’ newest quarterly data. For the Prince, who enjoyed near celebrity status in America after their royal exit, recent numbers suggest that the fascination is thinning, the narrative no longer bending in his favor.

The latest report indicates that Harry’s popularity in the US has declined by 14 points in 2025, marking his lowest level of public support in this system. He is currently liked by 38 percent of Americans and disliked by 23 percent, giving him a net approval rating of plus 17. At the start of the year, he stood at plus 31, with 50 percent viewing him positively and just 19 percent negatively, which makes this a steady fall rather than a wobble.

YouGov compiles responses across the year before bundling them into quarterly snapshots, which means these figures reflect a long-running shift rather than a single news cycle. While his net approval has dipped lower in the past, this marks his poorest performance when it comes to the share of Americans who actively support him, according to YouGov’s data, which stretches back to October 2020.

Part of this shift stems from the recalibration Harry and Meghan Markle have been attempting for nearly two years, Newsweek reports. After a long spell of highly public criticism of the royal family, their 'tell-all' period essentially wrapped around January 2023 with the release of Spare. Following that, the couple had to navigate a delicate path and attempt to transition from royal renegades to independent public figures

But Harry's overall ratings stand still at 92 percent, with his popularity being higher than that of his estranged brother in the UK. Prince William's popularity stands at 84 percent, liked by 34 percent of people and disliked by 19 percent.

Earlier, Markle, too, had seen a fall. Her US popularity slumped 18 points in the first half of 2025, leaving her with a net approval rating of plus four by early July. But unlike her husband, her curve has recently bent upward. The latest data shows she has clawed back 11 points, bringing her to plus 15.

The American public, for now, remains lukewarm toward the Sussexes. Megyn Kelly, the American journalist and attorney, also didn’t hold back during her latest remarks to the Daily Mail. “King William, in whatever years it takes after he ascends, I think he’s going to take away their royal titles, and that should happen ASAP,” she said, arguing that the duo has become “more brand than bloodline.” Kelly, who is preparing to launch The Megyn Kelly Channel on SiriusXM, continued her critique by framing the couple as self-serving. “These two are all about themselves. I think it’s a matter of time before they lose their titles, and they definitely have lost support here in the United States.” Pointing to their frosty welcome at the World Series, she added, “You saw them get booed at the game the other day. That’s real.”
