New Book Claims Prince Andrew Berated Staff — and His Recent Outburst Only Adds Fuel to the Fire

Prince Andrew is back in the spotlight, and for all the wrong reasons. Royal author Andrew Lownie spared no jabs, revealing private details of the Duke’s shady connections and financial woes in his explosive new book. One bombshell claim alleged that Andrew frequently berated his staff and treated them poorly. The allegation gains fresh weight following an August 12 incident, when the Duke allegedly threw a fit at builders installing traffic-slowing humps near Royal Lodge, tarnishing his already tainted image.

The Duke of York reportedly confronted the workers across the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park estate. As reported by The Sun, frustrated at the renovations near his home, Andrew told the builders, "What the f**k are you doing now?" A source present near the scene revealed, "The worker was just going about his job when Andrew, on one of his regular rides around the Estate, came along and looked down from up high and said, ‘What the f**k are you doing now?'" They added, "Andrew likes to drive his car out of Royal Lodge quite fast and is obviously a bit peeved as one of the speed humps is right by the gate out of the park."

Andrew's alleged behavior with the builders adds fuel to Lownie’s claims in his new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks. According to the Daily Beast, the book alleges he routinely mistreated staffers, often barking orders like "Do it now!" The Duke of York was reportedly also known to fly into a rage if his collection of 72 teddy bears wasn’t perfectly arranged on his bed, with maids given a laminated sheet showing the exact layout. Lownie claimed Andrew’s instructions for his aides were always, "I want this done and I want this done now. Do it!"
The New York Times also shared an excerpt detailing an incident in which the Prince reportedly mocked and degraded a staff member. According to Lownie’s book, after a severe storm hit Northern Ireland in 2005, Andrew allegedly asked David Anderson, the head of Hillsborough Castle, whether the building had suffered damage. Anderson is said to have replied, "The tree which was planted by the Queen Mother." The Duke then reportedly responded in a mocking tone, "Did you mean Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother?" He then asked how long Anderson had worked for the royal family. When he answered, "I joined in 1984, sir," Andrew allegedly shot back, "And you still don’t know the proper way to refer to my grandmother? You f–king imbecile."

Lownie's book is an investigative biography exploring the lives of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The author highlights their alleged controversial financial dealings, claiming also that the Duchess of York fell deep into debt due to her lavish lifestyle and often relied on the Palace to repay it. Meanwhile, the Duke of York is said to have played a central role in securing millions, possibly even billions, of pounds in business for British companies over the years.
