Meghan Markle's Camp Responds After Martha Stewart Makes Eyebrow-Raising Remark About Royal Reunion

Ever since Meghan Markle launched her Netflix lifestyle show, ‘With Love, Meghan’, she has drawn comparisons to one of the genre's pioneers, Martha Stewart. So, the latter’s statements about the Duchess of Sussex became big news when the two found themselves under the same roof recently. Now, however, a new plot twist has emerged after an insider close to Markle has come forward refuting Stewart’s claims.
During their summer vacation in Europe, Markle and Prince Harry reunited with King Charles at Highgrove, along with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since the meeting was private, there was no media presence at the family reconciliation. And as for the royals’ parts, it was reportedly agreed that the gathering wouldn’t be discussed publicly and that no photographs would be shared. However, Stewart claimed that the Duchess had spoken about their meeting with the monarch at an event in California that they had both attended.
However, an insider close to Markle has claimed that the cookbook author might have been mistaken, as the duo was seated away from each other. “Meghan was asked by someone else about her European vacation and said it was nice, and that was the extent of it. I think she must have been confused,” the source said via the Daily Mail. They further mentioned that despite the difference of opinion, Markle remained a 'fan' of Stewart.
The lifestyle expert also noted that Markle seemed to be entering her territory with her Netflix series. “If you're an actress, it's hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn't sort of follow. So go from there,” Stewart said. However, this is not the first time she has talked about the Duchess “stepping into” her space. After the latter started her own show, Stewart hoped she knew “what she's talking about”. While stating she didn’t “mind” the idea of having successors, Stewart added, “Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.”
Meanwhile, Markle recently rang in her 45th birthday surrounded by family and her pets at her and Harry’s Montecito property. She celebrated her special day with birthday balloons, tiaras, and jumping into the swimming pool. While her milestone birthday was reason enough, her joy must be doubled as Princess Eugenie gave birth to her third child, a daughter, on the day before. The York princess has maintained a sweet bond with the Sussexes and has been close with the couple since before their 2018 marriage.
With Stewart’s claims, her birthday, and new As Ever launches, Markle has already had too much on her plate. But she can’t take a beat anytime soon, as Cookie Queens, a Sundance-approved documentary that she and Harry were executive producers of, is releasing on Friday.
