Even though Thomas Markle sent his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle, well-wishes after she gave birth to daughter Lilibet Diana, a royal expert believes the two will never make amends.
"I don't see any chance of a reconciliation between Meghan and her father, from whom she has been estranged since before their wedding," royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliam said. "He has expressed pleasure at the baby's arrival."
Fitzwilliam also told Entertainment Daily: "Harry has never met him but there seems no chance of it foreseeable ... especially given the interviews her father has given during the period of their estrangement."
Meghan and Harry welcomed their baby girl on June 4 but waited to announce the news until two days later.
"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," a message read on their website. "Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA."
"She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home," the note continued. "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."
The duo also posted a personal note, writing, "On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family."

Shortly after, Thomas had nothing but kind words to say about his daughter's new tot.
“I’m very pleased that my daughter and my new granddaughter had a successful delivery," he told The Sun. "I wish them all my love and the best of luck.”
In March, Meghan revealed that her father betrayed her trust after he claimed he didn't talk to the press about his involvement in her wedding, even though he did.
