Meghan Markle recently swapped out her blue gemstone ring for a different one and social media is going gaga over it.

However, the chatter that follows every post rarely limits itself to the goodies the Duchess of Sussex is promoting, as it often extends to her fashion and accessory choices. In an earlier promotional video, Markle was seen carrying a basket of summer vegetables, but for better or worse, it was the flashy ring on her finger that stole the attention. Because it shared an uncanny resemblance to her sister-in-law Kate Middleton’s iconic sapphire engagement ring. And now the Duchess’s newest ring appearance has once again grabbed headlines, but for a different reason.
As Ever recently posted a video of Markle preparing her “favorite” ice cream sundae with the brand’s raspberry spread, vanilla ice cream, crumbled shortbread, and her famous flower sprinkles. The clip focused on the glass that the Duchess was preparing the decadent dessert in, but it was the bright, glittery, pear-shaped rock on her fingers that seemed to outshine the sweet dish. She had reportedly debuted it when she joined Prince Harry at the NBA All-Star Game earlier this year. It appeared that Markle had now swapped out her contentious blue gemstone ring for this dazzling new one that sits comfortably atop a gold band.

While she wore her wedding band on the other hand, her engagement ring, featuring diamonds from Botswana and Princess Diana’s private collection, was seemingly missing.
Middleton’s iconic sapphire engagement ring previously belonged to Diana, making it an indelible part of British history. Given the significance of the ring and the rift that the Sussexes have with the royal family, the appearance of a similar-looking accessory on the Duchess’s finger had riled up the internet.
While the famous sapphire engagement ring went to Middleton, Diana’s iconic aquamarine ring that she had bought after her divorce to King Charles went to Markle. The Duchess had first sported the stunning ring during her wedding reception in 2018. She wore it several times during royal events later on.
