Kate Middleton Proudly Wears Her Engagement Ring ― Even While Kneading Pasta Dough In Italy
Kate Middleton frequently sports her iconic sapphire engagement ring, and it seems nothing can make her part with it, not even the prospect of kneading pasta dough.
Kate Middleton is the proud owner of arguably the most iconic engagement ring in the world, and she has never shied away from flaunting it. Over the past 15 years, the Princess of Wales has paired the sapphire ring, which once belonged to her mother-in-law, Princess Diana, with various looks for numerous occasions. However, few expected her to wear the priceless jewel while kneading pasta dough during her recent visit to Italy.
On May 14, the Princess concluded her two-day trip to Italy with a fun pasta-making session alongside veteran chef Ivan Lampredi at rural Agriturismo 'Al Vigneto', where she prepared ravioli from scratch. Balancing precision with a lighthearted laugh, she appeared to be in high spirits while making the classic Italian stuffed pasta.
Eagle-eyed fans, however, were quick to notice that Princess had not removed her sapphire engagement ring, even as she kneaded the pasta dough. The mixture, typically composed of flour, salt, olive oil, and eggs, is rarely the environment for heirloom jewelry. While most would avoid such a risk, Middleton appeared unfazed as she handled the ingredients without removing the historic piece.
Middleton is a well-known avid baker who reportedly prepares cakes for her children's birthdays. However, she revealed to Lampredi that she also attempts pasta at home, though she admitted her method might need refinement. “When I do this at home it’s without a big bowl and it goes everywhere. It’s a good work out,” she joked while kneading the dough. When the time came to roll the dough through the machine ― the trickiest stage of making pasta from scratch ― the handle fell off. Undeterred, the Princess quipped, “Is there a technique for this?”
Despite the minor setbacks, the Princess produced a successful batch of ravioli, prompting Lamberdi to tell her, “You are hired”. The chef appeared genuinely impressed with her culinary skills. “I have shown many people how to do this exactly right and she was very good at it. She is a natural Rezdora," he remarked later. He further added that she was a quick learner and incredibly approachable. “She learnt it very quickly. She was a very easy person to speak to, someone just like us. It has been a huge honour for me to host the princess in my kitchen. I can’t believe it. It’s been a big responsibility," he noted.
After the pasta-making session, Middleton joined attendees for a hearty lunch. She spent the meal conversing and sharing a laugh with guests before departing the venue, marking the conclusion of her final engagement in Italy.
