Meghan Markle has shared a sweet new detail about Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet while promoting her latest documentary, Cookie Queens. Although the royal children haven't watched the film yet, they still found a way to enjoy the experience. During a special screening in Los Angeles, the Duchess of Sussex revealed what Archie and Lilibet "loved" most about the project, offering fans another rare glimpse into their family life.

At the screening on July 28, Markle joined director Alysa Nahmias for a special Q&A with the audience. For the unversed, Markle and Prince Harry are executive producers on the documentary, which follows a group of Girl Scouts through the competitive cookie-selling season. The film is set for a theatrical release on Aug. 7. During the Q&A, Markle was asked whether Archie and Lilibet had already seen the documentary.

Markle revealed they had not. However, the siblings were big fans of one part of the filmmaking journey. "They love all the cookies that we’ve had throughout this process,” the Duchess shared with a laugh. Previously, during her appearance on MasterChef Australia, the Duchess also opened up about their household dessert rule. She said, “If they say, ‘Mama, can I have dessert?’ We say, ‘If you can pick it, you can have it.’"

Discussing the documentary, Markle added, "It’s more than just about the Girl Scouts and certainly more than just about Girl Scout cookies." She explained. “It’s about girlhood, which Alyssa has said quite a bit as we’ve been working through promoting the show, but also it’s about families.” She continued, “I think it’s just such a brilliant portrayal of a really important part of Americana. When I describe it to people, I say, ‘I know you think it’s just gonna be a cutesy film about cookies...’ And yes, while it is very cute and there are lots of great things about cookies, I mean, I don’t know about you guys, but every time we’ve seen it, there’s not a dry eye in the house... There’s just so many really meaningful, grounding moments that I think will make it much more resonant than just something that’s cute."

Markle also shared how she and Harry became involved with the project long before filming began. “I baked some cookies, and I brought them to the meeting,” she recalled. Markle later praised the young girls featured in the documentary and admitted the project resonated with her as a mother.

Cookie Queens first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year before securing theatrical distribution. The documentary will arrive in cinemas on August 7, with Markle and Harry backing the project through Archewell Productions.
