Meghan Gives Rare Glimpse Into Family Life in the UK ― But Archie’s Accent Steals the Spotlight
Meghan’s latest family video has caught attention, but it was Archie’s adorable accent that really got people talking.
Meghan Markle has recently shared a glimpse of her family’s new life in the UK, where Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet are enjoying some time together outdoors. The sweet family video offered a look at how the children are settling into their surroundings. While the video in itself was quite wholesome, it was Archie’s voice that quickly caught people’s attention.
In the clip, the Sussexes appeared to be making the most of the cooler UK weather, from splashing through puddles in the rain to spending time by the fire. However, in an adorable moment, Archie could be seen racing alongside his younger sister Lilibet as she rode her bike down a track. Watch the video here.
One little moment in the video had people paying closer attention when Archie shouted “Go, go!” as he ran alongside his sister. His voice sounded more British than American to some viewers, even though he grew up in Montecito, California. Harry could also be heard calling after him as he raced ahead.
Markle has previously opened up about the way Harry’s British roots have rubbed off on their children. Speaking on her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, she revealed that both Archie and Lilibet have picked up a more British-sounding way of saying certain words, despite growing up in California. She pointed to the way they pronounce “zebra” as one example. On another occasion while speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, she added, “Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent. So they'll say, 'Ze-bra,' and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out. They have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him, and I think it's adorable."
Harry and Markle are settling into their new life in the countryside and are also getting their children into a local school. People close to the couple have shared how they feel about the big move. A source told the Telegraph, “They are happy to be back.” Another source close to the couple previously told PEOPLE that settling Archie and Lilibet “has been, and remains, their focus.” They added, “Everything else will fall into place when the time is right. There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it’s been really busy getting the kids settled. Their focus has been on that, and will remain on that, for the time being. They are happy to be back.”
