After a wholesome summer break at Balmoral, Kate Middleton is seemingly ready to get back to work. Her Royal Centre for Early Childhood recently posted a job update. And if the brief is to be believed, it hints at the projects she plans to undertake in the coming months.

The Center, which falls under the Royal Foundation, jointly overseen by Middleton and Prince William, is seeking a project manager to focus on the Center’s “business and international workstreams”. The role also requires the candidate to help manage projects that “engage a diverse range of stakeholders including corporations, employers, global experts, partners and cross-sector leaders in the early childhood sector”.

The job description might be a sign that the Princess of Wales is looking to take on more international work trips going forward. The cause is certainly close to her heart and has been a primary focus ever since she entered the royal fold. In fact, her first overseas tour after cancer remission focused on early childhood studies. Earlier this year, Middleton traveled to Reggio Emilia, Italy, to learn and observe the city’s globally acclaimed model on early childhood education. She had also penned a touching essay about her experience there. So, it would come as no surprise if the beloved royal plans foreign engagements for the cause.

The project manager role at the Royal Center for Early Childhood also includes co-ordinating activities that strengthen “the economic, social and organizational case for investing in the early years”, support “international knowledge exchange” and aid in positioning “early childhood as a shared priority for business, policy and society”. The project manager role is a full-time opportunity with a reported annual salary of around $60,836 USD. It will have a hybrid working model between home and the office in Central London.

The requirements further reinforce the speculation that the Princess of Wales might undertake more overseas work in the near future. She had previously traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2022, on a fact-finding mission about early childhood development. It was her last solo international work trip until this year.

While early childhood studies might take up more of the princess’s time going forward, she is expected to accompany William to Mumbai, India, for the Earthshot Prize ceremony. This will be their first joint international work trip since 2023.
