Kate Middleton recently revealed an adorable memory of Princess Anne that showed how close the two are.
It has been 15 years since Kate Middleton joined the monarchy. Over the years, she has not only carved a special place in people’s hearts but has also formed special bonds with every member of the royal family. Her close relationship with her in-laws was evident when she shared a sweet memory of Princess Anne at a recent public engagement.
Last week, Middleton and Prince William marked their first visit to the Isle of Bute in Scotland. While talking to fans during the outing, the Duchess of Rothesay, as she is called in the country, disclosed she had heard about the place from the Princess Royal. “I know the Princess Royal comes sailing,” she said. “I can see why. She often shows us in her photographs.”
Middleton and Anne both love sports. While the former is a sports enthusiast and grew up playing different disciplines, the Princess Royal is an Olympian in equestrianism. The Duchess’s love for sporting activities was clear when she listed her adventurous wish list for her next Scottish outing. “Next I’m going to go for a swim. Apparently, there’s a sauna that appears,” she said, before adding that she would love to explore the “live music” scene as well. Middleton loves cold swimming, and that’s perhaps why she was looking forward to swimming in the frigid Scottish waters. In fact, she had first revealed her extreme hobby in front of Anne during a special appearance on Mike Tindall’s 2023 podcast. “I absolutely love it,” she gushed, adding that the “colder” the water, the “better” she preferred it. However, her intense love for cold swimming understandably worried Prince William. “Slightly, to the point where William’s (saying), ‘You’re crazy,’ and it’s dark, and it’s raining. I will go and seek out cold water. I love it!” she added.
Apart from family events, Middleton and Anne rarely undertake joint engagements. The duo was last seen on Anzac Day this year, and news of their joining forces had made headlines days before the poignant event. Apart from sports, the two women also share popularity. They consistently rate well in polls and are loved by the public whenever they step out.
In 2022, the two beloved royals took part in their first-ever joint engagement. They teamed up to highlight the work of maternal healthcare services.
