'Colonel Catherine' is back in the spotlight! Princess Kate looked every bit regal, marking St. Patrick’s Day with elegance and tradition. On March 17, the Princess of Wales made a striking solo appearance at the Irish Guards’ parade, continuing a cherished royal ritual with a fresh sense of independence. Dressed to impress, she was seen perfectly balancing history, duty, and charm, carrying forward the time-honored celebration.
For the uninitiated, the Princess, back in 2022, was named as the Colonel of the Irish Guards, but ever since her marriage to Prince William (the former Colonel of the Irish Guards), Kate has been regularly attending the St. Patrick's Day event. Maintaining her streak, the Princess attended the event this year in Mons Barracks, looking impeccable and dressed in a forest-green coat.
Known for her strong fashion game, the Princess did not disappoint as she gracefully visited the regiment clad head to toe in green. For the day, Kate opted for a calf-length forest green coat, which she paired with a matching fascinator, and the royal completed her OOTD with bow detailing atop it. Kate also broke the green monotone of the coat with a black statement belt, black heeled boots, and gloves in the same hue.
Keeping her makeup minimal, Kate opted for a soft, natural base, complemented with perfected pink-flushed cheeks and a soft pink lip shade to add to her beauty. The Princess completed her look by styling her brunette hair in an elaborate updo. After wrapping the meet, PEOPLE reported that Kate will meet the members from the regiment and their families, hailing them for their contribution to the Armed Forces.
Having been known for her pride in being the Colonel of the Irish Guards, the Princess last year, during her visit, declared, “Here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do—this is a responsibility I do not take lightly.” Her continued dedication to the role has only deepened public admiration, reinforcing her strong connection with the regiment. Kate is also scheduled to help King Charles and Queen Camilla host Nigeria's president and first lady for a state visit soon after the event. She, along with her husband William, will be the first royals to greet the couple before their ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle.
