Prince Harry and Kate Middleton once shared a close bond before Meghan Markle stepped into the picture. Their relationship, however, was strained as Harry, post his royal exit, made bombshell claims about Middleton and the rest of the royal family. Now, a royal source has claimed that the Prince is planning a follow-up to his explosive memoir Spare, and Middleton is said to bear the brunt of it.
The source told Closer magazine, “There will be no turning back for the Sussexes. They will be in permanent exile. The details will be so damaging for the royal family that it could blow them apart.” The insider added, “And this time Harry has apparently got his focus set on sister-in-law Kate Middleton…He has no allegiance there anymore.”
In Spare, Harry had claimed that King Charles and Queen Camilla were very jealous of Middleton. He also recounted a dispute between Middleton and his wife, Meghan Markle, over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. Middleton was unhappy with the dress fittings and allegedly told Markle to remake the dresses, which made her cry. The insider explained, “The first book caused irreparable damage between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals, with senior figures said to be stunned by how many private and intimate moments Harry chose to share.” They added, “Harry himself has said he can write a follow-up, but it would mean he wouldn’t hear from his family again…no going back. Because they have already cut him off, he thinks, What’s the point in keeping it private?”
The Duke of Sussex has openly admitted that he has ‘enough material’ for two books, if he ever chooses to write a second. He told The Telegraph that the first draft was 800 pages – double the final manuscript. He also said it was impossible to tell his story without referring to family members. Harry told the publication, “There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know.” He added, “Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me. Now you could argue that some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway.”
As per reports, Harry no longer has a spot for Middleton, despite not long ago being very heartbroken by her diagnosis. Before his royal exit, the Duke had once described his sister in law as "the sister [he] had never had and always wanted." Despite reports that the Princess of Wales has wanted to take steps ‘towards making peace’ with Harry, the insider summed up, “Their relationship has gone beyond repair at this point…It's now just a game to [the Wales and Sussexes] to see who can one-up the other.”
