Harry and Meghan May Stay at a Royal Residence in the UK — Balmoral Rumored as the Spot
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the UK next month and will reportedly stay at a royal residence during their visit.
The twists and turns of reality TV drama could now seem too bland before the real plot twists the royal family has been throwing at the fans these days. After weeks of push and pull, it appears that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to stay at a royal residence in the UK when they visit in July. It was earlier speculated that King Charles was planning to host a reunion with the Sussexes at a royal residence, in a bid to finally meet his grandkids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after four years. With these new reports about a royal stay now surfacing, the question persists ― could it be Balmoral?
Balmoral can be a perfect setting for a royal reunion, offering a quiet escape far from the hustle and bustle of London. The long-awaited reconciliation might just be within reach, considering the monarch has reportedly offered to cover the Sussexes’ security next month. The move directly addresses the very bone of contention that has repeatedly stood in the way of the Duke bringing his family back to his home country.
Harry had previously cited a lack of security as the sole reason it was “impossible” for him to bring Markle and their kids to the UK. Earlier reports suggested he would only be given security for his Invictus Games engagements next month ― a claim that was later denied by the Sussexes’ spokesperson. Now, however, it appears the King himself has allegedly stepped in to resolve the lingering dispute, at least temporarily. And it may all be for the sake of Archie and Lilibet.
The last time Charles met his grandchildren was in 2022, when Harry and Markle had returned to the UK for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. It also marked the final time the siblings met their great-grandmother before she passed away a few months later. Although the California-based couple had returned for the late monarch’s funeral, they chose not to bring the kids along. The King, who has been a doting grandfather to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all these years, must certainly be missing the chance to spoil Archie and Lilibet.
Balmoral was widely reported to be the late Queen’s favorite residence, and now the Scottish palace might become the stage of this highly anticipated family reunion. However, reports also suggest that while Harry might finally reconcile with his father, a reunion with his elder brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, remains off the table. The rift between the Sussexes and the Wales might not get resolved just yet, as speculation is that the future monarchs will be kept away from Balmoral when Harry and Markle visit.
All rumors, speculation, and reports have pointed towards a royal reunion. But what actually transpires will only be revealed when Harry and Markle touch down at Heathrow next month.
