Did King Charles and Trump’s Aides Clash at State Banquet? Buckingham Palace Breaks Silence

King Charles went the extra mile to welcome Donald Trump to Windsor Castle for their second state visit. The pomp and circumstance at the state banquet on September 17 was nothing short of a royal fantasy, featuring a four-course menu, elegant cocktail receptions, and post-dinner spirits. Yet, behind the glittering facade, orchestrating such a grandiose affair came with its challenges. After reports of an alleged tiff between Charles and Trump’s aides surfaced, Buckingham Palace issued a statement, dismissing the claims as ‘categorically untrue.’

After Trump left the UK, a source told the Daily Mail that several members of his Secret Service entourage reportedly took the liberty to taste the food prepared by the royal chefs, which they allegedly found invasive. They revealed, "The chefs, working to plate three courses flawlessly, grew frustrated as US Secret Service agents repeatedly checked and even sampled all the food. What began as quiet irritation escalated into a heated exchange, with raised voices on both sides." In response to the salacious claims, Buckingham Palace said in a statement, "This story, and these claims, are categorically untrue."

The insider shared more details on what allegedly went down behind the scenes. They explained, "The visiting party was very easy to deal with and very appreciative of the hospitality. It took several minutes for tempers to cool and for the kitchen to return to its usual rhythm." They continued, "Guests in the hall remained completely unaware of the row, but in the kitchen, it was impossible to miss." While the White House and the US Secret Service have yet to comment on the matter, despite the alleged disruption, the event was dubbed a ‘resounding success.’
Trump’s state banquet dinner commenced with the 'Transatlantic Whisky Sour,' a bespoke cocktail designed to engage the warmth of a fireside s’more. Charles showed his prowess as an excellent host when he presented a four-course meal in French, adhering to royal tradition. The 160 guests also enjoyed a selection of fine wines, including the Wiston Estate Cuvée 2016, Domaine Bonneau de Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2018, Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 2000, and Pol Roger Extra Cuvée de Réserve 1998. Post dinner, staff served rare spirits like the Warre’s 1945 Vintage Port and the Hennessy 1912 Grande Champagne Cognac. Trump, who is a teetotaler, reportedly opted for soft drinks instead.

During the event, the King praised the ‘special relationship’ between the UK and the U.S, noting how far the two countries had come since 1776, when they were in conflict. He also made a cheeky reference to Trump's favorite hobby when he said, "British soil makes for rather splendid golf courses." Meanwhile, Trump returned the favor and thanked Charles for the royal welcome, calling it ‘one of the highest honors’ of his life. He also complimented Prince William as a 'remarkable son’ and gushed about Kate Middleton looking 'radiant and beautiful.'
