Body Language Expert Claims Kate Middleton Couldn't 'Mask Her Emotions' at Trooping the Color

The royal family came together for Trooping the Color on Saturday, June 14, to celebrate King Charles’s official birthday. Among all family members, Kate Middleton stood out with her grace and radiant smile during the ceremonial parade. The Princess of Wales donned an elegant aqua-colored outfit, matching it with white heels. However, it was her ‘genuine’ emotions that caught the attention of royal watchers and critics alike. Commenting on the same, a body language expert has claimed that she cannot ‘mask her emotions.’
According to Marie Claire, expert Darren Stanton argued that Middleton’s emotions are always on display as she cannot hide them. Reflecting on her Trooping the Color appearance, the expert stressed, “She's not one to mask her emotions, and today is no different. She's displaying a normal, happy smile, which is genuine. Kate is very happy to be there, her face is engaged." Besides Middleton, Prince William also seemed elated to attend the annual event honoring his father. Stanton said, “We also saw William smiling on his arrival, mirroring the same emotions as Kate.”

The expert continued, “We can see that both Kate and William are content to be attending the event and are showing genuine joy and excitement to be on the public stage. William's facial expressions were animated, highlighting his own excitement.” According to Stanton, Middleton’s choice of color for her outfit also spoke about her sentiments. He explained, “It is the color of tranquility, of protection, it denotes healing.” Noting the white accents on her coat-dress, he further opined, “The white that's included in her outfit is a significant color. It's, again, tranquility and peace, cleanliness and neutrality.”
Middleton's outfit also paid homage to her mother-in-law, late Princess Diana, and grandmother-in-law, late Queen Elizabeth. She opted to wear a dress by Diana’s favorite designer, Catherine Walker, for the royal event. Moreover, she donned the late Queen’s Bahrain Pearl Earrings. Princess Charlotte also wore a diamond horseshoe brooch, in a subtle nod to her 'Gan Gan'. The late Queen had gifted the brooch to her great-granddaughter, given their shared fondness for horses.

During the mega event, while Middleton took a carriage with her children, Prince George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to Buckingham Palace, William rode on horseback for the parade. The Waleses also posed for an informal family photo, which they shared on social media. In the caption, the Prince and Princess of Wales thanked the spectators and wrote, “Another brilliant day at Trooping the Color for His Majesty’s Birthday Parade. Thank you to everybody who came, and to all those who took part.” In another post, the couple shared glimpses of moments before the commencement of the parade and penned, “All ready for Trooping the Color!”
