New day, new issues; it seems this is the current state of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's life. The former Prince recently won a legal battle with the Thames Valley Police over claims that search warrants used to raid his properties were unlawful, but now he faces a much more serious obstacle. The latest development involves claims surrounding visits to a Scottish royal residence, where Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly spent time with Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

Police Scotland have confirmed receiving information and are carrying out enquiries into Mountbatten-Windsor's stays at Balmoral with the pair. However, the investigation is still at a very early stage, and authorities have not shared further details about the allegations. A spokesperson added, "We have received information and active enquiries are ongoing, but these are at a very early stage."
They continued, "All enquiries are evidence-led, with the needs of victim survivors at the heart of those enquiries. We would never confirm details of ongoing enquiries and it would be inappropriate to comment further." According to the Daily Express, the police inquiries relate to claims that women were trafficked to the Scottish estate. Epstein reportedly visited Balmoral with Maxwell in 1999, with the visit said to have been arranged at the invitation of the disgraced royal, who was then known as Prince Andrew.

The allegations have also drawn renewed attention to the photographs previously released by the U.S. Department of Justice. The pictures appear to show Mountbatten-Windsor and Epstein together during a shooting trip at the royal estate, though the exact circumstances surrounding the visit remain part of the claims being examined. Legal and public scrutiny continues to mount for the former royal, despite his persistent and vehement denials of any wrongdoing.

Balmoral Castle, located in the Scottish Highlands, has been owned by the British Royal Family since 1852, when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert purchased the estate. It has long been regarded as a private retreat for generations of royals and holds particular significance for the family. It was also where Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 in September 2022.
