Sarah Ferguson, who recently returned to the United Kingdom, had reportedly stepped back from the public eye after her ties to Jeffrey Epstein were made public. During that time, she was said to be seeking refuge in several undisclosed locations. However, following the birth of her daughter’s baby, she seemingly couldn’t stay away anymore. The former Duchess of York has faced a series of blows recently, including her removal as a patron of several charities in September 2025 due to her ties with the convicted offender.

Furthermore, Sarah’s Trust, a charity launched in Ferguson’s name, closed down in February 2026 after the Department of Justice released emails. Now, it seems Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife is facing another major setback. According to The Daily Mail, a plaque honoring Ferguson near Great Ormond Street Hospital was recently removed. Reports note that the removal left a clear mark, with an outline and two visible holes where the plaque once stood.

The plaque recognized Ferguson’s early efforts in opening a “Homes from Home” location near the hospital, an initiative run by The Sick Children’s Trust to provide housing for families while their children are in intensive care or high-dependency units. According to PEOPLE, the home opened in 1990, when the plaque was installed to honor the former duchess for her contributions. The hospital also noted that “the programme has the additional support of house staff who welcome families and provide them with much-needed support during their stay.”

Ultimately, the removal of the plaque marks yet another setback for the former Duchess of York. Beyond this immediate blow, it raises serious questions about how her past connections will continue to impact her public standing and reputation. That said, the plaque’s removal does not erase her past contributions to Homes from Home or her work with other charities. Although she has not been accused of any legal wrongdoing, Fergie continues to face the lingering fallout from her personal ties to Jeffrey Epstein, as well as her association with her former husband.
