Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's sketchy past finally caught up with him when the Palace announced that he would be stripped of his royal titles. Following renewed scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, King Charles also ordered him to vacate Royal Lodge. Although he is not expected to move out until 2026, sources claim he is struggling to come to terms with his situation. According to them, Mountbatten Windsor is depressed, leaving the royal family concerned for his well-being and uncertain about whether to include him in their Christmas plans.

Witnessing his younger brother's state, Charles reportedly wishes someone would spend the Christmas season with Mountbatten Windsor. Weighing in on the royal family's alleged Christmas 'conundrum', a source told The Sun, "No one wants to be seen with him, and the family has pretty much given up on him. Beatrice and Eugenie are very likely to be at Sandringham, as they are very much still in the royal fold." With regards to Mountbatten Windsor's dwindling mental state, they continued, "But Andrew is depressed after losing his titles and being exiled from the Royal Family — so they don’t want to leave him on his own."

Similarly, another insider detailed Mountbatten Windsor's alleged lonely life at Royal Lodge, which he is currently sharing with Sarah Ferguson. They revealed that a carton of champagne bottles was delivered to his home and collected by a staff member, despite the former Prince being a teetotaler. They added, "Whoever it's for, some might say it's perhaps not a good look to have Champagne delivered." Royal author Ingrid Seward also told the outlet that Mountbatten Windsor is in a 'difficult situation', surrounding his position at the Christmas celebrations. She opined, "But I cannot see them leaving him on his own — someone will scoop him up."

Like Charles, ex-wife Ferguson is also allegedly very concerned about Mountbatten Windsor's well-being, reportedly believing that 'dark forces' could be working against him. An insider told The Sun, "They are both spending a lot of time alone," adding that the former Prince "rarely goes out and has been padding around the lodge, ranting and muttering." Friends close to the Yorks suggested that much of Ferguson's fear stems from her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and the uncertain public position Mountbatten Windsor now occupies. "But she is particularly fearful for Andrew as she knows he was at the center of the Epstein scandal," said the source.

Meanwhile, according to The Mirror, Mountbatten Windsor has been 'holed up' at Royal Lodge since the latest revelations dropped. As per reports, the former Duke has 'shut himself off from the outside world,' spending most of his time inside, keeping busy with odd hobbies. A friend claimed, "He loves games like Call of Duty, war games with helicopters... He really enjoys war films and watching golf on TV." He is reportedly set to move into one of the late Prince Philip's properties on the Sandringham estate next year.
