On August 16, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s spokesperson confirmed reports that the couple will be moving out of Adelaide Cottage. While details of their next residence remain ambiguous, insiders claim that they are eyeing Forest Lodge in Windsor as their new 'forever home.' Reflecting on the same, a future neighbor has now expressed concern that William and Middleton may struggle to achieve the privacy and seclusion they seek for their family at Forest Lodge.

William and Middleton's new neighbors will be the residents of Cranbourne Hall Residential Park near Forest Lodge. Speaking to the Daily Mail, resident Jean Reeve said, "It's a less private spot than their previous home, from what I know about the location. So I'd hate for people to always be going past and saying, Oh, that's where they live. They have young children after all. They deserve privacy.'" Reeve, who has lived in the area for over 40 years, revealed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are her favorite members of the royal family. She gushed, "William and Kate are lovely...They're always with their children. It's a new style of monarchy. They'd like to be treated as normal people."

Another resident, Cynthia Sullivan, meanwhile, revealed the opinion people have of the royal family in their area. She said, "I've never heard anyone around here say anything anti-royalist. I think most people tend to like them around here...When the Queen died, we set up a memorial and all the children wrote their own notes." Taking a more optimistic approach, residents Rose and Norman Noyce gushed over the Prince and Princess of Wales, saying, "I'm really happy about it. They're my favourite royals. I think they're wonderful people and will make a great King and Queen. I just hope they don't mind living near us."

While residents of Cranbourne Hall Residential Park are looking forward to welcoming the Waleses, a source revealed that many tenants living on Forest Lodge grounds are allegedly being forced to move out, much to their dismay. The insider told the Daily Mail, "They were told they had to move. They were not expecting it. Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they're not going to want any Tom, Dick, or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there." The source claimed that "two separate families who lived in cottages next to the country mansion were asked to vacate their properties."

As for when William and Middleton will move, a Palace spokesperson told PEOPLE, "The Wales family will move house later this year." Shortly after the announcement, The Sun reported that Forest Lodge is undergoing minor renovations ahead of the family’s relocation. Their move follows more than three years at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, chosen in 2022 to be closer to their three children’s prep school, Lambrook, in nearby Ascot. A source close to the family revealed that the Prince and Princess are hoping for a 'fresh start' after a 'difficult time' at Adelaide Cottage, a reference likely to Middleton's cancer diagnosis last year.
