Why Beatrice and Eugenie’s Royal Fortunes May Be Safer Than Many Think Despite Andrew Saga
"Anyone worried that the York daughters may end up short of cash given the shenanigans of their parents need not worry," shared an expert.
Royal finances have been a hot topic, especially with the fresh finance reports recently being released, prompting renewed scrutiny of the monarchy's finances. While all other senior royals are standing accountable for their expenses, attention has once again turned to the York sisters. As questions continue to surround their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, many have wondered whether Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's financial future could be affected by the ongoing controversy. However, a closer look at their circumstances suggests the reality may be far more reassuring than many expected.
Daughters of disgraced royals, Sarah Ferguson and Mountbatten-Windsor, Beatrice and Eugenie, have quite a lot to their name. While their parents have over the years struggled with finances, the sisters have built a stable world for themselves, and apparently their money is not in the royal fold. Royal finance expert Norman Baker, talking to the Daily Mail about the sisters' finances, shared, "Anyone worried that the York daughters may end up short of cash given the shenanigans of their parents need not worry."
Explaining the situation, Baker shared how a part of that financial security comes from their marriages. Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, comes from Italian aristocracy and is the CEO of his own property development company, while Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank, has also built a successful career in property development. According to the expert, both sisters also benefit from trust funds established by the Queen Mother in the 1990s and later by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Their father is also said to have set up trust funds for them. Baker wrote that the funds "were designed to ensure the absolute minimum would have to be paid in tax." The York sisters also enjoy the royal homes. Beatrice has a two-bedroom apartment at St James's Palace, in addition to her Cotswolds home, while Eugenie and her family live at Frogmore Cottage after Prince Harry vacated the property. Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank also own a home in Portugal, where his work frequently takes him.
Beyond family wealth, both sisters have successful careers of their own. As non-working royals, they have pursued professional paths outside the monarchy. Beatrice, who studied at Goldsmiths, founded her consultancy, BY-EQ, which focuses on "adding more exceptional emotional intelligence in an age of artificial intelligence," and has reportedly earned around £500,000 ($661,600) through the business. On the other hand, Eugenie, who studied at Newcastle University, is now a director at the prestigious Mayfair art gallery Hauser & Wirth.
