Tensions within the royal family seem to be growing, with King Charles reportedly 'frustrated and upset' by Prince Harry's latest claims in his BBC interview. The already strained relationship between the father-son duo is at a tipping point. Harry’s harsh comments came after his loss in his legal bid to regain state-funded security. In his interview, Harry claimed that his father, who refuses to talk to him, was responsible for his security being pulled.

Harry has long argued that with his father’s help, he could have won his legal battles and regained protection in the UK. He previously stated that Charles could have swayed the decision by directing the royal aides on the RAVEC committee. However, a close friend of Charles clarified that it would have been constitutionally wrong for the King to get involved in a legal matter. As reported by the Daily Express, the source said, “What has frustrated and upset him [Charles] on a more personal level is the Duke’s failure to respect this principle."

The person added, "And for his supporters to suggest that somehow his father doesn’t care about his family, or should step in. He has been particularly concerned that it has taken considerable resources and cost for the Government to defend their position.” In his BBC sit-down, Harry further claimed that the Firm deliberately pulled his security to discourage his move to the US. Having lost his appeal, the Duke shared that he cannot imagine ever returning to the UK with his family, Markle, Archie, and Lilibet.

The Duke of Sussex added, “I was born into these risks. To know that those threats and risks exist, but to turn around and say, ‘Well, because you don't have an official role, your life doesn't actually matter anymore.'" As reported by Cosmopolitan, Harry described the situation as the most illogical argument in the history of arguments. While Charles reportedly misses his grandchildren, he has no intention of making peace with his younger son anytime soon. Royal expert Hilary Fordwich opined that the rift grows as the monarchy doesn't trust Harry anymore.

As reported by Fox News, Fordwich pointed out that since stepping down as senior royals and settling in California, Harry and Markle have continued their hostility towards royals back home. The couple has shared their frustrations in various interviews, documentaries, and Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare. The expert stated, "He [Harry] doesn’t serve his country, he only serves himself. That is abhorrent to all the British and British values." Despite his obvious resentment towards his family, Harry openly admitted his wish to mend his relationship with them, especially with his father, Charles, given his poor health.
