Princess Kate ‘Worried’ William Might 'Regret' Move to Strip Harry and Meghan of Their Titles: Source

The rift between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry is reportedly worse than ever, as the Duke of Sussex aired grievances against the royal family yet again in June in his BBC interview. Although the recent 'peace summit' between Harry and King Charles’s aides has raised hopes for a reconciliation, William reportedly isn’t keen on welcoming his brother back. Commenting on their feud, a source has revealed that Kate Middleton fears William’s alleged plan to strip Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children of HRH titles could permanently sever his ties with the Sussexes.

The insider claimed that the royal family allegedly discussed the future of the monarchy on their annual Balmoral summer break. They told Heat World, "William feels the monarchy has to move forward with a smaller, tighter unit. He believes that means phasing out Harry and Meghan completely and stripping away their last traces of royal privilege, including their HRH titles and their children’s titles." They added on Middleton's stance on the same, "Kate adores her husband and supports his vision, but she’s torn. She’s always been the peacemaker and doesn’t want William’s decisions to burn bridges with Harry forever. She worries William might regret going too far...If the decision is to cut Harry out completely, she knows there’s no coming back from that."

Middleton is also said to be 'deeply emotional' about how Harry would react to his titles being taken away. The source spilled, "She worries about Harry and can’t help feeling a real pang of sadness. No matter how fractured things have become, he’s still William’s brother. Harry already hates that his kids are excluded, especially from Balmoral." The insider revealed that Middleton has spent years trying to keep the line of communication open with Harry, and this could shut the door forever. As for William's outlook, the source explained, "He sees a future where it’s him, Kate, their kids, and a handful of working royals. Harry and Meghan just don’t fit into that vision anymore."
After taking the throne, the Prince of Wales allegedly plans to have a 'slimmed-down monarchy'. The source added, "He wants to slim down the institution, focusing on his family and the next generation." Royal expert Richard Palmer explained the Prince's logic behind having fewer working royals, claiming it will help reduce overall costs and reliance on taxpayer funding. Writing for The i Paper, he stressed, "A smaller number of working royals doing fewer engagements should mean fewer staff – the couple [William and Middleton] currently employ 68, about half the number who worked for Charles at his peak as Prince of Wales."

It is widely reported that William allegedly plans to strip Harry, Markle, and their two children of their HRH titles when he ascends the throne. An insider, who claimed to be his friend, told the Daily Beast, "He [William] obviously isn’t going to hire Archie and Lilibet... The idea that somehow having a vestigial HRH as a baby later entitles you to be a working royal is beyond parody, even for them."
