Princess Eugenie's Baby Reveal on Meghan Markle's Birthday Has Royal Fans Saying the Same Thing

Meghan Markle celebrated her 45th birthday with Prince Harry in an intimate way at their California residence. The Duchess shared monochromatic images of herself enjoying pool time, as well as a video of a dance routine shot by Harry inside their rustic Montecito kitchen. However, she received a royal snub from the monarchy regarding a public statement or wish.
Instead, Buckingham Palace rang out with jubilant news that Princess Eugenie had welcomed her third child, a baby girl, in Portugal. "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6.20 pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The baby was born weighing 6 lb 9 oz. Their Majesties the King and Queen and other members of the royal family were delighted to be informed of the news," the official statement read, along with an adorable picture of the baby on the Royal Family Instagram handle. It should be noted that Princess Eugenie waited a day before making the special announcement; many have viewed this as a subtle revenge against the Duchess.

Markle had earlier attended Princess Eugenie's wedding celebrations while pregnant. Back in 2018, the Duchess had announced her first pregnancy in the presence of Queen Elizabeth and senior royals as the family had gathered in Windsor for Princess Eugenie's wedding, Express UK reported. Fans quickly connected the dots and expressed surprise over Princess Eugenie's clever move.

The official announcement was made three days later via Kensington Palace's social media, coinciding with their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga. Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie's third child has secured the 15th place in the line of succession. The baby girl has two elder brothers, August, who is five years old, and Ernest, who is three years old.
