Princess Charlotte Proves She’s Kate’s Mini-Me in Sweet Easter Moment Many Missed
A tiny Easter moment between Kate and Charlotte had fans swooning and honestly, it said more than any big royal appearance ever could
A mother-daughter bond is unlike any other, and Kate and Princess Charlotte reminded everyone of that during this year’s Easter service. On April 5, 2026, the Wales family stepped out together for the annual service at St. George’s Chapel. It is their first appearance at the event since 2023. However, an adorable moment between Kate and Charlotte caught attention. The two were seen walking side by side, holding hands, and that small gesture said a lot.
The entire family was seen attending together following Kate’s cancer diagnosis the year before. However, in 2025, she shared that she is in remission. The mother and daughter’s closeness could be seen in the way they dress, too. That was obvious again on Sunday, when they stepped out in coordinated self-portrait looks. Kate kept it classy in a cream midi dress, while Charlotte went for a cute baby blue outfit under a Catherine Walker coat.
Ingrid Seward, in My Mother and I: The Inside Story of the King and Our Late Queen, told HELLO! last year: “Charlotte seems to be very full of admiration for her mother, which I think is a lovely thing, too. Kate and Charlotte are great friends, and I think to Kate, their bond is very precious. The mother-daughter relationship is obviously particularly important to Kate because she has such a close relationship with her own mother, Carole Middleton.” Charlotte is often called Kate’s “mini-me,” and it is easy to see why. Back in December, they even teamed up for a piano duet at Kate’s “Together at Christmas” carol concert, one of their many bonding moments.
Steward also noted that while Kate is close to all her children, it is especially nice to see the genuinely warm and affectionate bond she shares with her only daughter. An insider told HELLO!, while talking about Kate’s cancer treatment, “Charlotte has been a great source of strength for her. She cheers the princess up when she needs it most and has an uncanny ability to say the right thing at the right time.”
Not just her mother, but Charlotte was also seen having a moment with her father, Prince William. Outside the church at Windsor Castle, the 10-year-old was seen looking up at him so fondly. Children's wear designer Amaia Arrieta told PEOPLE, “[Charlotte] looks very confident and at ease with herself and the environment she’s in. The maturity that comes with that responsibility—she seems to nail it every time.”
Meanwhile, Princess Kate also brought out a meaningful piece of royal history for the occasion. She wore the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings. The pair was made using pearls gifted to the then-Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present back in 1947 by the Hakim of Bahrain. The earrings have been passed down over the years. Princess Diana actually wore them early on after joining the royal family in the ’80s. These days, though, they have become very much Kate’s thing, as she has been the main one wearing them since 2016.
