Peter Phillips Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at His Wedding—and It Feels Straight Out of a Fairytale
The official portraits gave royal fans a glimpse into their private wedding celebration.
Newlyweds Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling have offered royal enthusiasts a glimpse into their very private wedding celebration by releasing their first-ever official portraits from their special day. The images were shared on Monday, June 8, after their wedding over the weekend. It captured essential moments from the day that brought together major senior royal family members under one roof. Everyone had gathered for the union at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire. The ceremony was a major highlight for Sperling and Phillips, who each tied the knot for the second time after having previous relationships and blended their families for the occasion.
The newly released portraits gave a rare insight into the couple's wedding day. One photograph depicts Peter and Harriet outside All Saints Church, where they exchanged vows in front of family and friends. On the other hand, the second portrait was taken in the conservatory at Gatcombe Park, i.e., the country estate of Princess Anne. The wedding reception was also held at the same place. The venue was of utmost importance, since Anne not only attended the ceremony but also hosted the celebrations for her son and his new wife.
The wedding led to a strong turnout from the royal family. King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate also marked their attendance. Peter's cousins have long shared a close bond. After all, they grew up together and have appeared side by side in their major days over the years. However, Prince Harry was notably absent from the guest list, as were Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Their absence led to a fair amount of discussion ahead of the event. At the same time, the attendance of senior royals was telling of the importance of the occasion within the wider family.
For Harriet, the wedding also marked a memorable fashion moment. The bride, who is an NHS nurse, chose a floor-length Emilia Wickstead gown. It featured a long train and lace overlay. For her bridal look, she also included a lace veil, custom ivory satin Jimmy Choo heels, and jewelry from Pragnell. Her engagement ring was also created by the Mayfair jeweler. Harriet's choice to wear a tiara drew attention as a nod to royal tradition, especially as Queen Camilla opted against wearing one when she married the future King Charles in 2005. Meanwhile, Princess Kate was spotted in a cream-colored Roland Mouret dress accessorized with a coordinating hat for the drizzly spring ceremony.
The release of the portraits also marked the end of a chapter that had flourished in the public eye. The buzz about Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s romance first emerged when they were spotted at the Badminton Horse Trials together in May 2024. The latter began to accompany the former for many royal events afterward, like Royal Ascot. She got to mingle with the rest of the royals at the event. They announced their engagement in August 2025, as curiosity regarding their wedding only intensified.
