Meghan Marks Archie's Birthday With Never-Before-Seen Photos — Including a Sweet Moment with Lilibet

Meghan Markle also continued her tradition of avoiding using Archie's royal title, this time simply referring to him as her 'sweet boy.'

Prince Archie has officially turned seven, and mom Meghan Markle couldn't be happier. On May 6, she posted two sweet photos of her son: one of him as a baby resting on Prince Harry's chest, and another showing him holding hands with Princess Lilibet. The adorable snapshots offered a rare glimpse into the family's quiet life in Montecito, surrounded by nature and away from the spotlight. Markle also continued her tradition of avoiding using Archie's royal title, this time simply calling him her 'sweet boy.'

Markle wrote on Instagram: "7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy 🤍." The first image shows dad Harry relaxing on a couch while looking down at his young son as he sleeps peacefully, wrapped in a soft blanket. The second shows a grown Archie and Lilibet holding hands and walking together on a beach close to their Montecito home. The young Prince steals the spotlight with his tall stature and his bright red hair, inherited from his father. Harry has previously spoken about how he and his children inherited ginger hair from his mother, Princess Diana's Spencer family genes.

Since stepping back as senior royals in 2020, Markle and Harry have been raising their children privately in California. She previously told PEOPLE, "Once you know us, I think you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children as they do." And that normalcy also includes adorable day dates with her son. She continued, "Archie and I like to go and have lunch, share a burger and a Caesar salad, and have an ice cream sundae with two cherries on top." Although Archie was born in the UK, he moved to the US at the age of one and has been there ever since.

In true mommy fashion, Markle teased her son's birthday some days back on her As Ever website by introducing two limited-edition $89 candles inspired by Archie and Lilibet. The candles, named Archie's Garden and Lili's Garden Party, were described as personal tributes reflecting family memories and nature-inspired scents. The launch did not sit well with some royal watchers who questioned whether using her children for personal branding aligned with her long-standing emphasis on privacy.

As for Archie's birthday last year, the Duchess marked his big day by posting an adorable photo of him taking in a glorious sunset, with his back to the camera, with the caption, "Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie! Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He's six! Where did the time go?"
