Prince William Had a Sweet Answer To The Boy Who Asked if He’s The King: "No, I Am..."

Prince William recently visited Toxteth, Liverpool, on January 23 to meet local organizations supporting youth in the area. Among those he met was St. Nicholas Catholic Academy student, Mohammed, who eagerly struck a conversation with the royal. William, who much like mum Princess Diana is naturally good with children, gave a cool, composed response when the kid asked if he was the King.
Something to brighten up your day!!!

So... one of our amazing year 5 Children managed to not only have a chat with @KensingtonRoyal Prince William, he also managed to get a selfie!#Appetiteforchange@StJosephCMAT pic.twitter.com/Y4aEXAI5Jp
As reported by People Magazine, the little boy asked, "Hello, are you the King?" William replied, "No, I'm not, no. I'm his son." William, wanting to learn more about the boy, asked, "Did you have a good day at school?" The two also posed for an impromptu selfie video. In the clip, shared by the school on social media, someone offscreen playfully takes Mohammed's beanie, which had William bursting into laughter. The Prince of Wales, coming to Mohammed's defense, said, "He needs it on to keep his ears warm. It's cold out here; it's very cold today," as he rubbed his hands for warmth and turned to meet other students.
The first video is absolutely adorable!!! Our Prince of Wales is just the best ??? and I’m sure the lucky little kids and everyone else will never forget meeting the future King ?????????

William's loving exchange won the internet over. On X (formerly Twitter), the school shared, "Something to brighten up your day!!! So one of our amazing year 5 Children managed to not only have a chat with Prince William, he also managed to get a selfie!" In response, royal watchers took to the comment section to praise William. A fan penned, "The first video is absolutely adorable!!! Our Prince of Wales is just the best ???, and I’m sure the lucky little kids and everyone else will never forget meeting the future King." Another chimed, "One of my favorite things about Prince William... How sweet and kind he is with children of all ages! His mum would be so very proud of the man he's grown up to be!"

Interestingly, William and Mohammed matched in shades of green—William in a button-up fleece layered over a dark shirt, while young Mohammed stayed snug in a green puffer and gray pants.

William's ease with children can be attributed to his most cherished role—that of a devoted parent to his three children: Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. Kate Middleton and William became parents in 2013. Since then, they have been committed to keeping their kids at the center of everything they do. For instance, as reported by ABC News, the couple made a significant decision in 2022 when they shifted from Kensington Palace to the more peaceful Adelaide Cottage to shield their kids from the spotlight and give them somewhat of a normal childhood. As for their education, the royal children all attend the Lambrook School near their home in Windsor.
