Prince William Wants Andrew 'As Far Away As Possible' From Royal Family, Claims Expert

William’s focus on duty and modernization leaves no room for what experts describe as “the liability of Andrew around.”

Prince William is quietly but firmly drawing a line, determined that his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should be pushed as far from the heart of the monarchy as possible. As the latter prepares to vacate his 30-room Royal Lodge for good, the future king is said to be driving a strategy to ensure permanent distance, both physical and symbolic. William aims to protect the crown from further reputational damage and ensure that his own reign, when the time comes, is not overshadowed by scandal.

That resolve was articulated publicly by British royals expert Hilary Fordwich, who, as per Fox Digital, said, “Prince William, in particular, is the strongest proponent of distancing Andrew from the royal family. He wants his wayward uncle as far away as possible.” She added, “He doesn’t want his reign overshadowed by such scandals — let alone living in constant fear of another damaging revelation with lurid headlines.” According to her, William’s focus on duty and modernization leaves no room for what she described as “the liability of Andrew around.”

The determination has gained urgency as Mountbatten-Windsor, now stripped of his royal titles and no longer styled as ‘Prince’ or ‘His Royal Highness’, prepares to leave Royal Lodge by easter. The expert stressed that William is acutely aware of the public sentiment and said, “He wants distance in every sense. He’s also in tune with public sentiment, and the issue is trust in the monarchy.” The Buckingham Palace previously stated that it does not speak on Mountbatten-Windsor’s behalf, given that he is no longer a working royal.

The push behind Mountbatten-Windsor’s marginalization has also reflected a broader internal shift. Royal expert Helena Chard also told the outlet that both William and his father, King Charles, would likely welcome the disgraced royal being kept “as far away as possible.” Chard emphasized, “The monarchy comes first.” She also explained that the physical distance would make it easier for the family to separate itself from the ongoing scandal in order to avoid distractions during key diplomatic moments.

Together, these assessments point to a monarchy recalibrating its tolerance for scandal. As Forwich summarized to the outlet, “Prince William and Princess Catherine’s zero-tolerance blueprint is already transforming royal family dynamics.” For Mountbatten-Windsor, that shift signals not just eviction from a royal home, but a near-total exile from the institution, as his nephew is determined to preserve at almost any cost.
