Prince William Just Accidentally Confirmed a Major Update About Prince George's Schooling
During a recent radio appearance, Prince William dropped a hint about Prince George's upcoming school situation.
The three royal children of the Prince and Princess of Wales are among the most popular members of the monarchy and its future. Royal family fans look out for updates about Prince George and his siblings, as well as their presence at royal events. It seems as if it was only yesterday that Kate Middleton and Prince William walked out of St. Mary’s Hospital carrying Prince George, snuggled in a blanket. But that was 12 years ago, and George now towers over his already tall mother and is currently in his last year of study at Lambrook School, meaning he will soon begin his secondary education.
The soon-to-be teenager’s choice of school for further studies has been a topic of constant discussion amongst royal fans. While George has a wide array of excellent institutions to choose from, the choice had seemingly boiled down to two options - the prestigious Eton College, where his father studied, or his mother’s alma mater, Marlborough College in Wiltshire. While no clear decision has been made public, William did reveal that his son was preparing for his new school, whichever it will be, by boarding at Lambrook.
During his recent appearance on the Heart Breakfast radio show, the Prince of Wales was asked by hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden to give his children a shout-out they could listen to while on the school run. The ever-doting father happily obliged. “Charlotte and Louis, because George is boarding last night, Charlotte and Louis, if you're listening, make sure you're on time, please, make sure you're not fighting over who listens to what, this morning,” he quipped, as per Hello!. Both Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are enrolled in Lambrook School.
As per Lambrook’s website, students aged 7 to 13 can stay from five nights to a week every so often. The school offers separate houses for boys and girls, which are overseen by a house parent and supported by tutors. It will certainly be a good preparation for George, as he looks forward to studying in a boarding school in the coming years.
As to which school the young prince chooses to go to, it seems that his parents are keeping multiple options open. Managing editor of The Good Schools Guide said, “I feel as though the (Prince and Princess) of Wales may be holding multiple places at different schools. It sort of feels as though if they had made a definitive decision, somebody would know, and it would be out there.” Apart from Eton and Marlborough, it appears that Wellington College is also a part of the contest.
During his radio appearance, William also discussed how chaotic mornings usually are in their household as he said, “It can be it depends if there is a guitar lesson or a music lesson, you have to get the guitar in the car, no we aren’t taking the car, are we boarding are we not, are we seeing friends or are we not, all of that going on in the morning.”
