Prince Harry reportedly 'regrets' publishing his 2023 memoir 'Spare' amid reports Meghan Markle 'admires' Kate Middleton.
January 10 marks two years since the publication of Prince Harry's "incendiary" memoir Spare. Today, the Duke of Sussex is said to be feeling remorse over the attacks on his own family members.
Meanwhile, his wife, Meghan Markle, apparently still "admires" Kate, Princess of Wales, a source shared, even though many reports suggest the estranged sisters-in-law have not spoken since September 2022.
"Although Harry is glad he finally got his say on everything that went on with Spare, there is part of him that has some regrets over it all and the way it was handled," they stated. "He was still very angry about how he was treated by his family and wanted them to know and felt his book was the only way they’d listen. But looking back, he’s not sure it was handled in the right way and he has faced a lot of criticism for it and hurt his family a lot."
"Harry still wants to have a relationship with them and is hoping that in 2025, he can make that happen," the insider revealed. "A lot has gone on since Spare was released and he didn’t update the paperback version — so he is hopeful he can repair the relationship."
Meanwhile, the source explained how the Duchess of Sussex is set to try and make 2025 the year "she shines," which kicks off with her upcoming Netflix show With Love, Meghan on January 15. "Meghan has had many offers to write her own book and she’s still considering them."
"She doesn’t have the loyalty Harry has and would happily write about her experiences, but she is also aware that dragging up the past could cause another backlash and lose her even more public support," they observed. "Kate and Charles' health battles have made them both re-evaluate things."
Kate and Meghan use their star power differently as both royal women are "personally and professionally" polar opposites.
This led former royal correspondent Jennie Bond to share, "Catherine and Meghan are indeed two very different women and are now on very different paths."
"Everything Catherine does is to help others, the disadvantaged, the young, and now those suffering from cancer," she said. "It's not for money, or fame or self-aggrandizement. It is to help people who are in trouble or difficulty and to do good. I believe Meghan is also using her star power to bring attention to certain causes and people who need help. The campaign that she and Harry have started to limit the dangers of the digital world to our children is admirable. But she is also very active in the commercial world."
