“This was inspired by Nelson Mandela, who once said ‘What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived,'” the couple said in a preview about the upcoming project. “It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

The seven-part series will center around the anti-apartheid activist, his legacy and will feature interviews with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, social justice attorney and advocate Bryan Stevenson and U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The new television gig comes after Harry and Meghan made waves with their own bombshell docuseries chronicling their love story and their departure from the royal family, who were not thrilled with the couple spilling their family secrets to the world.

Another source close to the family, author Katie Nicholl, revealed she feels the new Prince of Wales will be the most torn up about the special, noting he will most likely feel "betrayed" and "will be taking this very personally."

"There’s a lot of tension, there’s a lot of upset, there’s a lot of anger and resentment," she explained. "And any reconciliation is really quite far down the line."

In the six-part documentary, the embattled royal opened up about his rift with his father, older brother and the firm over the mistreatment of his wife by the British press. "I have 30 years experience of looking behind the curtain seeing how the system works and how it runs," Harry emphasized in the series. "Just constant brief about other members of the family, about favors inviting the press in. It's a dirty game."

Variety first reported about the project.
