Prince Harry May Have Dropped a Major Hint About His UK Move Months Before — But We Missed It
Prince Harry’s old comments about living in the U.S. are raising eyebrows after his reported return to Britain this week.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved back to the UK on August 26, and it seems this plan has been in the making for quite some time. The Duke of Sussex may have even dropped a few subtle hints a month back that were easy to miss at the time.
In November 2025, when Harry wrote a heartfelt essay for Remembrance Day, he looked back on his time in the military and in Ukraine, reflecting on his work with military charities such as Scotty’s Little Soldiers and the Invictus Games. He wrote, “Remembrance has never been about glorifying war. It’s about recognizing its cost: the lives changed forever and the lessons paid for, through unimaginable sacrifice.”
But one line in particular now stands out. “Though currently, I may live in the United States, Britain is, and always will be, the country I proudly served and fought for. The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands, ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it.” Harry continued.
Looking back at his words now, the Duke of Sussex’s reference to his life in America takes on a different meaning, especially following reports that he will be staying in the U.K for an extended period. And the Remembrance Day essay was not the only time that Harry hinted towards the move. In September 2025, he spoke with English singer Joss Stone about her recent move back to Britain with her family after years in Nashville.
She told HELLO!, “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back — for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends and a strong sense of belonging and, most importantly, in a safe environment.”
The Sussexes are expected to stay outside of London in a private residence. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have reportedly been enrolled in a British school, with classes soon to start in September. The return is taking place shortly after their vacation last month to the country, where they also met King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove
