Prince Harry Has One Way of Keeping Princess Diana Alive for his Kids — and It's Not Just Her Name

Prince Harry may be raising his children thousands of miles away from the royal world where he grew up, but there are some childhood memories he appears determined to pass on to his kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. From carefree family days and ski trips to visits connected to Princess Diana's past, Harry has found touching ways to give his children glimpses of the experiences that shaped his own childhood.

In his pursuit, the Duke of Sussex is ensuring that their late grandmother remains a meaningful part of his kids' lives. Harry is keeping his mother's legacy alive through the way he parents. The clearest example came during the Sussex family's recent summer trip to Europe, when Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children visited Althorp — the Spencer family's ancestral estate in Northamptonshire, where Diana is buried. For Archie and Lilibet, the visit was a rare chance to connect with a grandmother they had never met.

However, this is not all; Harry is also recreating many of his happiest childhood traditions with his own children. Diana was known for her revolutionary parenting techniques, giving her kids a normal childhood without any royal baggage, and now Harry is carrying forward that legacy. In 1993, Diana took Prince William and Harry to Walt Disney World in Florida, where the young princes enjoyed rides and attractions with their mother.

More than three decades later, Harry experienced Disney magic from the other side as a father. In 2025, he and Markle took Archie and Lilibet to Disneyland in California to celebrate Lilibet's fourth birthday. He even took his kids skiing, and it took many back in time, as Diana regularly took her sons on ski vacations. The family was often photographed during their trips to Lech, Austria, and other locations.

Other than that, Harry has also made sure Diana's memory is woven into everyday family life. In 2021, he revealed that he kept a photograph of his mother in Archie's nursery and said "Grandma Diana" was among his son's early words. When Lilibet was born in June 2021, she was given Diana as her middle name, creating another lasting connection between the late princess and her grandchildren.

Although Archie and Lilibet will never meet Diana themselves, Harry's childhood memories continue to connect them to the grandmother, who remains an important part of their family's legacy.
