Even years after her tragic passing, Princess Diana remains a true global icon. Whether it’s all the great charitable work she did, her incomparable charm, or even her simply fierce fashion game, the late Princess of Wales is still a major source of inspiration for a lot of women around the globe. In fact, her name has recently been making headlines, yet again. After all, her iconic revenge dress is headed to the auction house yet again, after almost 30 years. But that’s not all; her brother, Charles Spencer, is also writing a new memoir, named Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, to try to tell his sister’s side of the story. However, the memoir has already sparked a warning from Piers Morgan, who believes Spencer's book could be a "bombshell" for the Royal Family and may even "settle scores."

Earl Spencer has described the upcoming book as one of his most emotional and personal books. However, not everyone is convinced the memoir will be a quiet tribute to Diana, with Piers Morgan warning that it could prove to be a “bombshell” for the Royal Family. Speaking on a special episode of The Royals Uncensored, Morgan said he believed Spencer could use the memoir to “settle scores,” pointing to the Earl’s famous eulogy for Diana following her death in 1997. "This is the guy, remember, who made that incredible speech in the Abbey when she died, and he is planning, I think, a book where he'll settle scores," he added. Morgan also acknowledged that he could potentially feature in the book, telling viewers, “I'm probably going to be one of them. So let's wait and see what it says. I've had a rocky old ride with old Earl Spencer."

Morgan’s comments come as Spencer prepares to share his own account of his life with Diana and the events surrounding her death. The memoir’s description promises to tell the "astonishing story" of Spencer’s life with his sister and the tragic week that followed her death. Charles Spencer had previously revealed that completing this book had left him with a powerful feeling. According to reports, he has described this feeling as ‘certainty’. He even took to Instagram and shared his feelings about the book in the caption. Spencer wrote, “Always an amazing, and exhilarating, moment for an author to hold the first physical copy of a new book — and even more so for me with Swan Song, the most personal of the ten books I’ve written over the past three decades.”

This memoir, which is set to be released on September 22, 2026, isn’t the first time that Spencer has spoken out about his beloved sister. He has worked hard to defend his sister’s legacy all his life. At his sister’s funeral, Spencer allegedly went all out to promise that he would always try his best to tell Diana’s life story as he knew it, and it’s quite safe to say that his upcoming book is another simply beautiful step in that direction.

He even reportedly brought it up during his book press release as he exclaimed, “This book aims to tell the truth about Diana from her brother’s perspective, just as I attempted to do when speaking at her funeral.” Spencer further added, “As with my eulogy, I want to speak on Diana’s behalf and do so in an openly positive way.” At this point, it’s safe to say that royal watchers are super excited to read this one.
