Palace Left 'Alarmed' After Reports Meghan Markle Discussed King Charles Reunion at Dinner Party
Meghan Markle's reported slip-up might hinder the Sussexes' path to future reconciliation.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent reunion with King Charles and Queen Camila, which took place at Highgrove in July, was supposed to be a rather private and hopeful step in the right direction. After all, it was about rebuilding trust and a relationship with the Royal family. Unfortunately, according to a new report, Markle has now raised eyebrows in palace circles after the supposed private meeting became a topic of conversation at a California dinner party.
According to insiders, who spoke to Rob Shuter on his Naughty But Nice Substack, this meeting was an important moment for the fractured family, and privacy was central to the encounter. However, after a comment from Martha Stewart, who said she attended the said Hollywood dinner party shortly after the Duchess returned from the UK, the Palace has grown concerned. A source explained, “That’s what has palace insiders concerned. This wasn’t an intimate gathering of close friends. Meghan was a guest at someone else’s dinner party, surrounded by people she barely knew, yet the royal meeting was already part of the conversation.”
Furthermore, the Palace allegedly made it quite clear that the concern appears to be less about whether Markle revealed anything private and more about the fact that the private meeting came up in discussions where it wasn’t required. Another insider who spoke to Shuter said, “The entire purpose of that reunion was to rebuild trust!” They added, “When details start circulating outside a very small circle, alarms go off. In Hollywood, conversations have a way of traveling much farther than intended.”
Another issue that allegedly bothered them was that, even though Stewart had barely spoken with Markle, she was aware that the Duchess had “just gotten back from the palace.”
The source went on to explain, “If someone who barely interacted with Meghan knew she’d been with the King, imagine what everyone else at that table heard! The family’s greatest fear has always been that private moments become public conversation. That’s exactly what they’re trying to avoid.”
Both the palace and Markle's team have yet to address the same.
