Meghan Markle Sees a Missed Opportunity in Harry’s Royal Ties as Money Concerns Grow: Source
A new report claims Meghan Markle wants Prince Harry to embrace his royal brand for bigger paydays.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have built a new life in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They have been working to keep up with their lives and finances since stepping down as senior working royals in 2020. However, a new report suggests that the couple’s financial future may be in jeopardy, which has allegedly forced the Duke and Duchess to rethink how they approach Harry’s royal identity, and whether it can help them find a way ahead. According to StyleCaster, Markle reportedly believes Harry is missing out on major earning opportunities owing to his own 'biases' against Hollywood.
The source went on to add that Markle wants her husband to understand that it’s time to embrace the commercial side of Hollywood and the possible opportunities tied to his public profile rather than completely shying away from them. The insider explained, “What she wants is for him to stop acting like he’s above the whole Hollywood thing and start getting paid. There are plenty of opportunities up for grabs if he would just stop being so snobbish about it all.”
Furthermore, the report also claimed that while Markle really does appreciate and support all of Harry’s charitable endeavors, she believes that they should not come at the expense of supporting and providing for their family. Although Harry stepped back from royal duties more than six years ago, the insider alleged that Markle believes he is “still so attached” to his royal status. She reportedly also feels like he should find ways to monetize it, if that’s the case.
Another insider close to Markle expressed, “While she supports him being proud of his titles, she wants him to find a way to monetize it, whether that means doing cameos in movies or TV shows or starting a podcast. She really doesn’t care.” Meanwhile, another source from Hollywood added, “There is no escaping the financial reality of the situation. The entertainment industry is incredibly competitive, and some of the opportunities that once came so easily are no longer there.”
The report also claimed their royal status remains their “biggest asset” after a commercially difficult few years. Another source made perhaps the boldest claim of all, alleging, “Basically, the Sussexes want back in the royal family as they fear their lifestyle may go bankrupt.” However, neither Harry nor Markle, or their representatives, have publicly responded to these claims yet.
