Meghan Markle Finally Addresses Rumors of Financial Troubles
After weeks of reports questioning As Ever's performance, Meghan Markle's team is setting the record straight.
The gossip surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's alleged financial crisis has continued to dominate headlines since they left the royal fold. While Markle's social media posts often showcase life inside their $30 million Montecito mansion, sources claim the couple is navigating serious monetary issues. Recent reports have also targeted her lifestyle brand, As Ever, citing declining website numbers and a potential $4.9 million loss. It seems the Duchess of Sussex has had enough, with her brand's spokesperson dismissing the rumors as false and purely speculative.
Recently, a report by Newsweek found a 33% decrease in visitors between January and April 2026 on As Ever's website, with just under 400,000 US visitors in the first quarter. To add insult to injury, journalist Alison Boshoff wrote in the Daily Mail that the Duchess may be facing a 'looming crisis' as As Ever's jams, teas, and flower sprinkles are struggling to sell before their expiry date at the end of next summer. She penned, "Our analysis of her [Markle's] recent sales figures indicates that there's more chance of King Charles taking a swim in a pool of her homemade conserve than her selling all her stock in time," asserting that the brand could face losses of more than $4.9 million on jams alone.
In response to the speculation, a spokesperson for As Ever told the Daily Express, "Recent claims suggesting that As Ever is facing financial difficulties or bankruptcy are entirely false and based on speculation rather than fact. As Ever continues to grow as an independent business, supported by a strong customer community and an exciting pipeline of future products." They added, "The continued appetite for As Ever products speaks for itself, and we remain focused on what matters most: delivering quality products and building a brand that our customers love."
Unsurprisingly, it's not just her lifestyle brand, as both Markle and Harry are said to be in a deep financial crisis over their alleged luxurious lifestyle. A week ago, an insider told InTouch Weekly, "They've [Harry and Markle] cut their staff several times before, but she's [Markle] now saying they need to let more people go — Meghan just feels they are spending too much. It will mean they both need to do more to pick up the slack." According to the source, the Duchess believes they are spending more than required and wants to curtail their expenditure, given Harry's frequent trips to the UK.
